Ended day on 330/4, only to be bowled out for 350 and then went on to lose that test. Remember Napier 2008/09? NZ up by 500+, with nearly 2 days to bowl India out. Gambhir played the innings of his life! Remember the 1st test b/w West Indies and Kiwis a week ago? Windies chasing 500+, NZ had nearly 2 days to bowl em out, Bravo played a blinder and weather finally rode to the rescue of the Windies. Don’t take test cricket for granted. We gotto play the 4th innigns of the test match with the same determination of being down 0-1 in this series. Even in our previous 2 series in South Africa - which were both so incredibly competitive - were we never so ahead in a test match. This is one rare chance, gotto capitalize. Once you have a foot on the opponent's throat, you gotto strangle him. No mercy!

If someone said to MSD if he could have the following situation where he can have a 4th innings target of 320 to defend, he would have jumped on the opportunity with both hands and legs. So technically speaking, we already have enough in the bag.

carnish Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Cannot play for weather ... Need to get atleast 450 runs lead which means playing for maybe 30 minutes after lunch ... We can declare or get out in the process of getting to that score. That will leave SA with about 145 overs to get 450 which is about 3 RPO which aint that difficult if they bat normally ... considering there is no rain. What this does is give south africa hope and India a chance to pick some wickets.
