urbestfriend Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 i don't think so,rohit and pujara are good but they are not tendulkar and dravid Rohit :giggle: He is not fit to clean the shoes of Sachin.
FischerTal Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 why do people assume pujara will be like dravid? he plays slow definitely but increases SR later. very different from dravid
Sachin=GOD Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 why do people assume pujara will be like dravid? he plays slow definitely but increases SR later. very different from dravid he's solid and to some extent, dependable.
Old guy Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 why do people assume pujara will be like dravid? he plays slow definitely but increases SR later. very different from dravid You make it sound like that being like Dravid is a bad thing.. Lol

maniac Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 What makes guys like Dravid,SRT, and even Chanderpaul & Kallis from the rest is that they kept going on and on.....Ponting and Lara had brilliant peaks.....What makes this generation of cricket greater than the players of the past is the amount of ODI's these guys played in the 90's and still delivered in all formats for a long periods of time. Now if you add IPL and the T20 format it makes it that much more challenging for Pujara and Kohli to keep the consistency going with so much cricket being played. I would say if anyone breaks SRT or comes close to the names I have mentioend along with performing at T20 and IPL then I would rate that person as the greatest player ever. Bradman is a non-entity
maniac Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 why do people assume pujara will be like dravid? he plays slow definitely but increases SR later. very different from dravid Because people only follow the score when Pujara bats......Kohli and (:giggle:) make you stop what you are doing and watch them bat
maniac Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 Rohit has won IPL as a player and a captain,India's best T20 player, has a test average of 100+,Has a ODI 200,Scored 2 back to back tons on debut ,Has a IPL hatrick...He is already up there on his way to be a ATG. List any player with that kind of a record

List any player with that kind of a record Long way to go for being even in contention of being an ATG. Great start to test career, but he can't forever have that 100 run average. He has just played grand total of 3 matches. Plenty of players score century on debuts and get their average around 100.xx for next couple of innings and later mess it up big time. Also let me hit hard fact, it's easy to get a hundred in test when you have been playing international cricket for 6+ years and are in the form of your life in ODI'S. So it's easy to transfer that form in test and do that thing. He deserve all these chance now which he is getting, but it's long way away for us eveb recognize himn as a pottential all time great. He has an average of just 35 in ODI'S. Not an all time great stuff that. Can be better with the pottential he has.

Number Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 Dravid also did very well in his first tour of England Then in SA against Donald Pollock. Then he looked very good against Ambrose Walsh and Bishop. Should have retired in 2008 with good avg.
rkt.india Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 Dravid also did very well in his first tour of England Then in SA against Donald Pollock. Then he looked very good against Ambrose Walsh and Bishop. Should have retired in 2008 with good avg. He had past his prime by 2006. He averaged 42 since SA tour 2006, very similar to Ponting. Ponting also past his prime by 2006.
Kiwi Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 Pujara has ability to surpass Dravid, Tendulkar will be too difficult for Kohli to surpass.

putrevus Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 Let Rohit do something important before he is compared with Kohli and Pujara let alone Sachin and Dravid. I don't think we have seen any player like Pujara yet who by his fourth test had to take on mantle of being the best batsman on his team.He has shouldered that mantle very well so far in short career.
