Akashdeep bowled 7 overs on the trot and every ball was 137 k+ in his 7th over. Looks like natural pace to me.

Good stamina and intensity. I hope he maintains this and doesn't take his eye off the ball if/when he becomes a mainstay on the team. A newcomer who has a point to prove will generally give 110%.

Akashdeep could have easily debuted a year back in the WI, when we wasted time on Unadkat, Mukesh etc.

We wanted an accurate pacer who can regularly bowl 140 k+ with bounce and movement.

Akashdeep has surprised me with his pace.

I thought he will be around 135-140..with just an upgrade over Mukesh.

But he has clocked high speeds and regularly batting movement at both sides.

 

I just hope they don't spoil him under wrong coaching of Mhambrey

aaj ki bowling dekh ke ..he is definitely a fast bowler - not an express fast but i am happy with him as he averages more than 136K......accurate bowling is his strength.

Siraj can easily manage 138 to 143k but he tries too many things and slows down - what he needs to do is accurate 2nd to 5th stump at 140K +- pitch will get him wickets.

Even Deep Dasgupta who knows a lot more about Akashdeep only mentioned how he got fast tracked when someone saw him bowling in some camp in Kolkata. But why did he get fast tracked and what made him stand out from the rest of the bowlers? He didn't mention. It's like "pace" is their Kryptonite lol.

Thing is if you talk about pace in India you will branded as illiterate,orthodox,atyachari, durachari etc

They will draw similarities between you and some random paxtani landura gawar

They don't know every historically successful bowling unit was very ably and well lead by great fast bowling resources

They back and hype their fast bowlers doesn't matter whether they are quality or not

If they are not they will obviously sideline them for another set quick pacers

It's not like they don't belive in medium pace they have introduced many of them

But their philosophy is they should be really really "accurate" and bouncy as well

Barring Philander most of them had been tall

Be it Clarke,McKay,Richardson,Abbot(SA),Zoysa

+ All of them were decent with bat and fielded well

Needs to rested till he is. 

 

Bowling pies at 128 k to 135 k is not what a fully fit Siraj does.  The usual zip is missing, the usual pace and josh are missing.
