I was in office when I saw one over when harshit was talking to batsmen n scaring him. I was sure he will get him out soon- shocked that harshit has not got a wicket to showcase his efforts

Seems he bowled like Cummins..batters were trusting the bounce and leaving.

Should have adjusted his lengths like Cummins did later and got wickets.

Indian bowling didn't hit the right lengths today. Disappointing that none of the coaches or teams brains trust tried correcting this. Not sure if this is due to the pitch or the pink ball but they weren't close to their best for whatever reason.

Highlights didnt show the complete spell, but it looked like we were kinda bowling back of length and expecting the delivery to bounce awkwardly. Cummins too did the same at the start of the spell but he later bowled bit fuller.
Starc pitched the ball up and allowed it to swing at pace, he was easily hitting 140-145 and banana swing at that pace is unplayable. Our pacers were slow to begin with, Harshit and Bumrah took few overs to get the pace up.

Bumrah did.

But Harshit crossed 140 k from his first over itself. Except his 2nd spell first over, he was always quick.

And he bowled fuller and swung the ball in his 2nd spell.

On another day, he may have picked up a couple of wickets.

I saw highlights..2 fours were not his mistake..but his economy still shows decent..did he bowl accurately today..or Aussies were very careful..

Harshit  7th over

Swing both ways from good areas.

@Mosher, @Lone Wolf, @Suhaan, @singhvivek141, @vishalvirsingh, @rollingstoned, @MK55, @tapandrun

Noticed this and mentioned this also on one of the thread here. He has added white-ball skills plus he is able to take the ball away from rh batter.

And hence the decrease in pace where he was not able to touch 145+ kmph which he was touching previously. It takes time  to regain pace Akram also mentioned that when he added indipper it reduced his pace and then took sometime to gain it back.

Rana has natural action for inswing bowling and to develop away swing is good.

Also he may need to work on his fitness.

but good pace in 7th over for some1 with  no intnl exp.

Rana will have 1-2 good spells this series but doesn’t seem an all condition bowler to me yet.

Siraj miyan for example can go from ordinary to extraordinary in a span of session but Rana seems more of a typical strong built hit the deck type bowlers like VRV Singh etc.

Hope he evolves but good backup for overseas but don’t see him an all condition  bowler at this point of time.

We need a Ishant sharma type of bowler here. Harshit is wayward with his length.  Siraj looks good but not picking wickets.

Harshit looking stiff this morning. Not running in well so far. Accuracy down in his 1st 2 overs.

Hope he does not have a niggle.

He seems to have been helped by the natural pace of Perth pitch. He is getting found here.

In short, Harshit is a good support bowler. Not a leader. Atleast not yet. But he is a damn good support bowler. And hopefully he will get better.
