FischerTal Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Some imbalances in current indian history textbooks? :cantstop:
rkt.india Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Now Indian education will go from one end of bigotry to the other. We need someone/some institution which can be a bit impartial in telling Indian history and RSS is nowhere near that. Nothing is ever impartial. Everyone who writes history too has his/her own bias towards things.
randomGuy Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 The first education minister was Maulana Azad - one of the best persons you could have hoped for as education minister. so the Muslims got pak and bangladesh AND got to write our history books  Its high time things mentioned in this post get implemented. My own grandparents migrated from Pak during partition and when I google my last name, all Hindus that come in search result are Indians and all muslims are Pakis.
Sachin=GOD Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Nothing is ever impartial. Everyone who writes history too has his/her own bias towards things. Yes.....but the way to improve things or to remove previous bias does not mean including an even more biased organization like RSS to edit history.
diga Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Yes.....but the way to improve things or to remove previous bias does not mean including an even more biased organization like RSS to edit history. RSS may be biased, but you need to consider everybody's viewpoints before editing the history.. Can you check if the HRD minister met only RSS and not any other leaders of society?
hhunaeh Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Should i respect tipu because he was the king of mysore and fought for it, or should i dislike him because he killed hindus from other kingdoms? The question most kannadigas have to confront if RSS changes tipu's history.
Detonator Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Calm down dood. I have studied in an RSS run school and know what distorted and gutter and logic defying version of history they want us to learn. They'll say all Rajputs' date=' Maratha's and other hindu kings were more brave, more intelligent, more powerful then Muslim invaders but don't explain then how they kept losing. Their text of history eulogizes mass sati tradition which was followed in Rajputana.[/quote'] I haven't read RSS books, so I take your word and agree. This kind of version is not what we want. I will accept history as it has been, but I will not accept some appeasement in it. The version I have read was so blantant and ignorant. I have read this under the topic Babighat massacre or something. I have no problem on saying history as it was. As S!=G noted, Maulana Azad is the leader of Caliphate Movement. That's outright scary. ISIS is a great grandchild of that movement, which make me think RSS is far less radical compared.

Number Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 As long as they don't go to extremes and start teaching Ramayana/Mahabharata and other mythologies in the history books its fine. India history does need a lot of correction, with views of both right and left wing historians. Currently it is filled with whatever Marxist historians have assumed. A whole canon of lies is formed so that we don't offend some sections of society.
sourab10forever Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Must also revise all the histroy textbook. ICSE 9 & 10 has histroy down from indus valley to Independece....and not a single mention of greats like sardar patel, chndrashekar azad ,bhagat singh or any other non-congress person.
coffee_rules Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Add some history about people who opposed Congress in the first election. It seemed like Congress won the 1951 elections unopposed and it was a unanimous victory.
hhunaeh Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 be open about who killed gandhi and why, and who did what during the independence struggle.
jalebi_bhai Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 so the Muslims got pak and bangladesh AND got to write our history books  Its high time things mentioned in this post get implemented. Mariyam Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 You are a Butt? Even if you don't like the guy or the AAP, that is not a polite thing to ask.
randomGuy Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Even if you don't like the guy or the AAP' date=' that is not a polite thing to ask.[/quote'] His way of showing his butthurt love. whats up jalebi_bhai?
Raghav_12 Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Even if you don't like the guy or the AAP' date=' that is not a polite thing to ask.[/quote'] It is politer than using the other word which he could have.
Kalia_Test Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 There is nothing wrong in putting up the history as it is ( as per latest findings and research done by unbiased sources ). The current history taught is very biased IMO. Of course, we need to moderate content to ensure that no hatred emerges in young minds. The current generation should not suffer due to atrocities committed by earlier generations. As a progressive nation, we must be open to history and tell it as it is...If there were hindu scoundrels, tell it...If there were muslim scoundrels, tell it... Not with an intent to create hatred but with an intent to show how our nation emerged inspite of them...
Mariyam Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 It is politer than using the other word which he could have. Agreed. But still an asinine way of asking, me thinks.

Its not just india now if we tell about this stuff it will only turn people more violent at an young age. better it is censored they can learn on their own. Best thing would to eliminate the people who have done bad stuff from books.
jalebi_bhai Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Even if you don't like the guy or the AAP' date=' that is not a polite thing to ask.[/quote'] Are you guys for real? :wall: My question was a reference to the last part of his post that I quoted....... On reading that......the first name that came to my mind was...... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bhat_clan The three of you'll couldn't peg your heads together and notice the fact that I specifically capitalized the b in 'Butt'? I could've phrased the question better but I was in a hurry to get out of college and catch a bus....... In fact..........let me go ahead and rephrase my question........ randomguy, if you don't mind telling me........is your surname Bhat/Butt?
