Kohli might have told him "play your natural game".. Of all the bowlers Lyon must have been the least threat to him.Very poor thought process. I understand it is his debut. But guys like Uthappa showed lot more maturity in the early stages of their careers. Also he looks like playing across the line a bit more. Probably his strength. But he needs to take time out there before playing extravagant shots.

Again, too short to say anything, and the way he threw his wicket was pathetic, particularly given that he was dropped off the previous ball.. I was wondering if Kohli would tell him to calm down just after he was dropped, but sad to see a senior guy like Kohli telling him to go for the big shots... Easy to get carried away by such advice... Would surely give him more time to figure it out by himself Might be sarcastic. Rahul took it literally. :giggle:

CoverDrive Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Rahul has got a lot of runs recently by attacking spinners in the domestic matches. like many recent Indian batsmen he under rated Lyon and tried to attack him to get over his debut nerves. not going to be easy for him - hopefully he gets another chance in the next match. he has to do something in this time as he wont get a lot of chances. his key test is still going to be against pace where he will face a much bigger jump in quality
