Bengaluru Police has summoned Mishra and has directed him to appear within seven days regarding the case. puneet28 Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 Indian spinner Amit Mishra has been charged with verbally and physically assaulting a woman in a hotel in Bengaluru.The reported incident allegedly took place in a hotel on September 25. The woman filed the case on September 27. According to CNN-IBN, an FIR has been filed against Mishra.Sandeep Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Central Division, Bengaluru, told a local TV channel that FIR had been registered against Mishra and a copy of the same was sent to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Mishra had been booked under Indian Penal Code sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 328 (causing hurt with intent to commit an offence), he said.The woman had lodged a complaint in Ashok Nagar police station last month, alleging that the cricketer had sexually assaulted her when she went to see him in his hotel room. "The woman in her complaint had alleged that she was sexually assaulted after she had visited the cricketer's room," the DCP said.Amit was in the city last month for training when he had met the woman, Patil said. The Bengaluru police has summoned the spinner and ordered him to appear before the investigating officer within seven days. Amit Mishra was on Monday selected for the Test series against South Africa, which commences on November 5. beetle Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 (edited) The Bengaluru police on Tuesday registered a criminal case against cricketer Amit Mishra after one of his female friend alleged that he assaulted and outraged her modesty in a five star hotel on September 25.The woman friend of the cricketer alleged that she was attacked in a five star hotel in Bengaluru on September 25 while Mishra was in the city to attend a cricket camp.Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central division) Sandeep Patil said that the police had served a notice to Mishra to appear before them within a week time for investigation of the case.The woman in her complaint said that she and Mishra were friends for over four years and often met each other. On September 25 she entered Amit Mishra’s hotel room when he was not present and this resulted in an altercation when he arrived, the woman has stated to the police. The argument turned violent and Mishra allegedly beat her with a tea kettle.“Some members of the hotel staff witnessed the incident and we have taken their statements. We have enough evidence to take action against Mishra if he fails to appear before the investigating officer,” Patil said.He said the police had also informed the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) about the case through email. The case against Mishra has been registered case under the Indian Penal Code section 326 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means) and 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty).“The incident took place on September 25 and the woman filed a case on September 27. We have collected the statements of eye witnesses and the CCTV footage at the hotel ,” an official at the Ashoka Nagar police station said. Before every cricket tour, he used to come for training and visited Vandana at her house on Rest House, Crescent Road. They were good friends for the last three years and socialised during free time after training. After Mishra tried to avoid her, she confronted him in his hotel room."I learnt that he is in town for training prior to South Africa tour. On September 25 evening, I went to Ritz Carlton hotel room and began to talk to him. He began to give me evasive replies and shouted at me. He tried to outrage my modesty. Even few hotel staff have seen this and CCTV footage must confirm this.
