renjith Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 Barinder Sran or Jaydev Unadkat who do you think is the better left arm seamer as of now? Unadkat improved a lot in the last domestic season and I think he is the better of the two as of now. tweaker 1
MCcricket Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 Unadkat is a joke, Sran has some pedigree, good action , he needs to work on stamina n strength n he has the potential to be a very good left arm pacer. Unadkat is a useless hack who bowls around 125 to max 133 K, no pace or heart Mosher and tweaker 2
Mosher Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 Sran has a lot of potential. He was troubling the batsman with late movement into the right handers and bowled really well yesterday. But he needs to improve his pace by atleast 5k's and needs to work on his fitness as he tends to lose steam in the later overs and starts trundling. Unadkat is crap only good at domestic level. I thought he had improved when I saw his bowling in Ranji but I was wrong. He is the same old trundler. Ankit_sharma03 1
Ankit_sharma03 Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 (edited) 1st things its a wrong comparison as unadkat hasd played so much domestic so he obv wud have a lot more control n understanding of his game Sran is a gr8 potential, he has got gud physique and height. He has gud full length ball and gud short pitch as well add to that he bowl pretty gud slower balls. He is only going to improve as he pays more n more and he wud understand his game more. His weakness is stamina n also i feel he lacks the intent in his runup n action which affects his pace by 10k. I beilve he can consisitently bowl at 140k. HE shud be send to Aus- A tour n made sure he bowls a lot of over n since its going to be a season with lot of test cricket he wud get a chance to play lot of domestic n bowl a lot of over. Hope he improves only. Jaidev well not for International cricket. Edited June 12, 2016 by Ankit_sharma03 tweaker 1
renjith Posted June 12, 2016 Author Posted June 12, 2016 Hopefully unadkat gets a game in this odi series and we will be able to see both of them in action against same set of batsmen. express bowling 1
express bowling Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 Both bowlers lack the minimum pace required to succed in test matches and ODIs. Sran is more skilled but lacks stamina. Unadkat gets more bounce. Both could be good if they can bowl 135 k to 142 k ....given that they are tall bowlers and have control.
Texan Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 We should have picked Hardik Pandya too. No point going back to Rishi Dhawan. Pandya dropped because he had a poor IPL, but its not like Rishi Dhawan was setting the IPL on fire either. Coming back to the topic, it would be interesting to see if Unadkat gets a game. Sran seems to have a good action. If he can improve his pace to about 135-140 without compromising on swing, then he will be very valuable.
chewy Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 neither, they both struggle to go even past 135kph, likes of Nehra, Zaheer, RP Singh when raw players were consistently above 135kph, and couple in the over were bowler 140kph+ express bowling 1
gakgupta Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 SRAN is really really raw......I hope somebody works on his action.......he can easily improve by 10k speed if action is smooth......but I liked his late swing Anyone who can get the ball into right handers are always dangerous.......he is doing it beautifully time and again Sent from my XT1068 using Tapatalk Ankit_sharma03 1

With I Pathan this trend of low 130 swing bowlers started...now praveen, Bhuv and these two jokers...unadkat esp i dont want to bring him to Pathan/bhuv/praveen levels but still he has their bad qualities like lack of pace and more like lack of everything else.
gakgupta Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 I followed the ranjis cricket and I really loves jaydev bowling.... Really have to see him in Intl arena to check his improvements Sent from my XT1068 using Tapatalk
maniac Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 I saw Unadkut bowling in a test match at centurion in good bowling conditions......Will be tonked for 8 r.p.o in ODI's leave alone T20's Sran has the stamina of a chain smoker trying to play cricket on a sunday afternoon but atleast for few overs, looks threatening,.....At best will be good in T20's On Potential Alone Sran>Unadkut. Dhawal on the other hand is kind of better than these 2 which is not a compliment by any means.....but Dhawal an be ok in helpful conditions biglebowski 1
rkt.india Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 Unadkat is someone who bowls 135-140K in domestic cricket, Ranji Trophy and come international cricket, he bowls 125-130.

rkt.india Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 I am really happy to see Sran getting that inswing to right handers going. I am not worried about his pace. I know he can bowl 135-140k range. In the last two games, he has concentrated on swinging the ball and when ball swings, even 130-135K pace becomes hostile. I had not seen this kind of swing from him before and that is what I was hoping him to improve upon. After so many years of watching cricket, one thing I understood that you bowl 130, 135, 140, 145 doesnt matter to batsmen. These days, they dont feel uncomfortable against this pace. So, if someone is bowling 130 or 145, one will be successful only if he has good control and can move the ball or gets extra bounce. Pace troubles batsmen when it gets above 145K, more so upwards of 150. Bowler then has a bit more leeway. So, I dont want a 140-145K erratic bowler, I want a 135K good bowler. 140K plus might look good to see on TV but of no use if not bowled well. A combination of both is great but we are yet to find one. tweaker and msplash9 2

Question is...how will he bowl in conditions when the ball is not swinging ? ( most conditions he will face will not offer him swing ). Does he have the tools ? Also, against good teams who attack him, will he be able to maintain his accuracy ? Most times Sran does not hit the deck hard and bounce is not one of his weapons yet. The comment was not just about Sran. It was a general comment about bowling. Whether he bowls at 135 or 145, he will still have to move the ball and bowl accurately. As I said, 140-145 is an easy pace for batsmen these if they are not consistent or moving the ball. Do you remember practice games in Aus, where he was consistently troubling their batsmen with bounce? He got batsmen beaten for pace when bowling short. It was streamed online. Dont worry mate, Batsman will anyway be swinging his bat, Dont change a thing, I know you can beat him with pace. He is uncomfortable to your pace. yadaa yadaa yadaa. But I think, instead, after couple of dot balls, Captain is prompting to him keep the bowl in that line/length.

Depends on what a captain wants from you. tweaker and Ironhide 2
