tweaker Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 Team for 3rd test Dhawan Rahul Rahane Kohli Rohit Saha Jadeja Ashwin Shardul Bhubaneswar Shami vishalvirsingh and sscomp32 2
sandeep Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 Shardul? A bit drastic. Shardul is a domestic trundler, a marathi vinay kumar. He can do what Ishant does, but just much worse. And I'm a Bombay guy. But I'm sure Kohli's going to feel the burn of this draw. I would be surprised if there are no changes to the bowling "attack". nevada 1

express bowling Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 I want Rahul to play this test. Regarding bowlers, a lot would depend on the pitch. Jadeja in place of Mishra may not be a bad idea. Jaddu has a knack of picking wickets if there is any help on offer for the spinners. tweaker, sscomp32 and sandeep 3
zen Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 Looking at the big pic, Ind is already ahead in the series. Tests are not LOIs where the result is usually a win or a loss. In tests, the result can be a win, a draw or a loss. For a side that is ahead, a win or a draw = it is ahead. And vice versa The team selection should depend up on the pitch. The management should also ponder that do they want to bring in too many players who may have to adjust to the conditions vs those who have already adjusted and risk losing when Ind is already ahead in the series tweaker and express bowling 2
G_B_ Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 same team... maybe a call between Shikar and Murli...
tweaker Posted August 4, 2016 Author Posted August 4, 2016 The only change, most probably will be Jadeja in place of Mishra. I would really like the management to drop Ishant & Yadav so that they can comeback as thinking bowlers,so that they don't panic when their plan does not work. They should have mental strength to try not to bowl all over the places & stick to simple length & length routine. They could have learned from their Windies counterparts how they dried runs from our batsman.
Ankit_sharma03 Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 Dhawan Vijay Rahul Kohli Rahane Jadeja Saha Ashwin shami Umesh Shardul/ishant If i had aaron i would have dropped umesh as well, but i want him to be in rhythm as Home series are coming and he did well in 1st test. Ishant was bowling well but bowling short n wide line is waste of energy. So i would like to try shardul for this game. Mishra has his limitation and is a complete liability on field whereas jadeja contributes more. Jadeja can pull few miracle in field can score quick and if the pitch helps his bowling he can even run through them. If not he bowls a tight line n length tweaker 1
express bowling Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 Does Shardul have the pace required for international cricket ? He was bowling 128 k to 142 k in Ranji Trophy but those speed guns are so unreliable. He is very accurate though, bowls out-swingers and has a sharp bouncer. He is a bowler with decent skills and that is a plus. tweaker 1
maniac Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 After this kind of a setback of not finishing things off...I see the same team being played...no way unknown commodities like Shardul getting a shot. Kumble has more faith in Mishra the genuine spinner than Jadeja so don't see that happening. Max I can see is Bhuvi might replace Yadav or Rohit being played as a 6-4-1 strategy to ensure no further hiccups

We scored 500 but failed to get the opposition out twice. No way will the number of bowlers be reduced. tweaker 1

The guy is known for Reverse swing in domestic and atleast he ll bowl with full intensity. With ishant we know wat we ll get tweaker 1

The kind of defensive mentality that crept in the 2nd test where we wanted to ensure safety, makes me doubt otherwise...in terms of fielding and bowling Kohli was pretty aggressive but batting was pretty conservative. Especially with WI showing a fight,India might be a little on the defensive now...not by a lot but just a little. Had we wrapped this up then sure but this result might change plans. It looks like whenever I mention Rohit there seems to be an automatic difference of opinion...how about 6 batsman with Rahul at No3 with Vijay back :) ANyways at this point it is just an estimate and an assumption let us see how it pans out tweaker 1
Lannister Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 Pujara should be dropped. In bowling department, a trundler should come in place of Ishanth 'useless' Sharma and Jadeja in for Mishra. tweaker, Mosher, Ankit_sharma03 and 1 other 4

Yadav is the most disappointing of the lot...has all the tools to be a strike bowler but he is just inconsistent....I won't call him brainless just inconsistent sscomp32 and tweaker 2

mishra Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 Take Pujara out of batting lineup and We will definitely struggle unless Kohli does some magic. I have no confidence in our classy openers Dhawan and Vijay. tweaker 1

No one bowls in top order so a big no-no to 6 batsman unless we are playing on a pitch which so bowler friendly that 4 bowlers are enough. tweaker 1
