Jadeja v Mishra

This is not a difficult decision in India. Jadeja is deadly on turners. 

 

What about overseas? Who should be our 2nd spinner? Mishra or Jadeja?

Jadeja looks more threatening than Mishra in helpful conditions......in other conditions both are useless......Mishra is a better bat than Jaddu for sure......Jadeja is one of the best fielders in the world.

Mishra is srsly overrated.

Jadeja can run through opp on helpful pitches, On gud pitches he can hold one end up if not taking wkts. 

Most pitches does offer some turn on 5th day and thats where his speed and length can be dangerous. 

He is an asset in field whereas mishra is complete liability 

Jadeja is mindless slogger which can come off some days and turn the game , Mishra is decent with bat n more dependable than jadeja. But if u have to rely on no8 batsman to save u god help ur team

Mishra seems more like an LOI spinner at this point. Who else is there as a legspinner? Chawla, Karn Sharma, Chahal, Tambe all seem like LOI spinners.

Everyone see's Jadeja as a better 2nd spinner.  But we need a wicket taking spinner on non turning tracks.  1.4 billion people and no Mishra-alternatives as a leg-spinner.  Shame on us.

He is indeeded 2nd best spinner of the county or u might wanna say we have nothing so automatically becomes 2nd best. His being 2nd best shows the dearth of spinners in the country.

With Mishra's fitness he cant even fit into LOI's.

Not just fitness, but his mental fragility. Remember in the WT20 in Bangladesh, he performed like the best spinner in the tournament until the semifinal against SA. Faf started attacking him and Mishra disintegrated during that innings. We were lucky that Kohli is the greatest T20 batsman of all time, otherwise we would've lost that match. He also seemed mentally scarred in the final vs SL after that, although that loss was more on Yuvi.

 

He has always played well in the IPL for SRH and DD, but it seems he's not a big game player.

Jadeja can contain even on unhelpful conditons, complements bk better. Ironically Mishra seems like a better batsman than the triple triple centurion. More likely to score a 50.

Both have serious limitations. 

 

Mishra has the skills but is mentally weak.

 

Jadeja has a limited skill set but is able to plug away.

 

Has to be a better second spinner out there but the selectors are useless and just recycle instead.

Also seems to lack physical endurance to bowl more than several overs a spell. Not a good sign for a test bowler, but good enough for a spell of 4 or 2 spells of 5 each.

Fatigue will do that.  It'll be interesting to see if it happens during his first several overs or after he has sent down 10 - 11 on the trot.

Bowling leg spin is like bowling fast, you might not have a long run-up and bowling, but effort put in is immense like fast bowlers to hurl the ball with high resolution across a 22 yard pitch. One needs to really strong to do that for a long time.
