moniker Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 Unfortunately there is no proper replacement for Dhoni, especially when it comes to wicket keeping.. dhoni is brilliant... Time is running out... You don't require a specialist keeper for T20s. A proper batsman who can keep a bit should do the job.
Gambit Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 Its funny to note blind Dhoni fans crying about no replacements when they were the first ones to dismiss that theory when Fab 4 were struggling. Dhoni is amongst the most inefficient T20 batsman (among batsmen who have played >30-40 games) in the short history of the game. tweaker, sscomp32 and Ironhide 2 1
express bowling Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 There are quite a few keeper batsmen who can be tried in T20s. Ironhide, sscomp32 and tweaker 3
Rightarmfast Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 Dhoni is 35? Looks like atleast 40 to me. He is past his sell by date! express bowling 1

Quote rahulrulezz on August 31, 2016, 18:29 GMT Matches India lost because of Dhonis tactics where his slow batting costed the match to India, again there are probably many more. velu Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Every player lose some game and dhoni is no exception.. In international T20, there is a valid case that he did screw few games .. But there is no argument about his status in ODIs.. sscomp32 1
Gambit Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Of all batsmen who have made over 400 runs in T20s, Dhoni ranks 65th in terms of strike rate even below the likes several Zimbabweans, Scots, Afghans etc. That says it all. http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/stats/index.html?class=3;filter=advanced;orderby=batting_strike_rate;qualmax1=5000;qualmin1=400;qualval1=runs;size=100;template=results;type=batting Ironhide 1

sandeep Posted September 1, 2016 Author Posted September 1, 2016 I think Dhawan should be benched in T20s. KL Rahul's emergence is the death knell for his India career I think. But we need good left-handed batsmen, especially in T20s and ODIs. Who are the lefty prospects coming through? Too many righties make it too easy for the other team.

A SR of aleast around 130 for those who have to bat during the first 15 overs and a SR of atleast around 140 for those who have to bat in the last 5 overs, in combination with acceptable averages....is what we should strive for in T20Is. Only Kohli, Rohit , Rahul, Raina and , to some extent, Hardik are good T20I batsmen in our team and we lack lower-middle order 140+ SR batsmen apart from Hardik. Can't off-hand think of a new left-handed batsman for T20Is.....who has a realistic chance of representing India. Edited September 2, 2016 by express bowling

Raina has been good when he has been used in the first 15 overs. I forgot about him due to his lack of form in the last 1 year or thereabouts and exclusion from the last series. More than personal love or hate......the question is, whether Dhoni, Dhawan and Rahane should be in our T20I team based on their current ability, form and stats in T20Is ?

Dhawan and rahane somewhere near 113 or 116. I don't see people crying about their strike rate. Dhawan and Rahane should not be in the T20 team at all. Also, Dhoni's SR used to be around 110-115 and only improved this year. Bigg Brother 1
