sandeep Posted October 17, 2016 Posted October 17, 2016 He's definitely not the spraygun he used to be. Improvement is there. Hope he sustains it, because with his pace, he could win India games if he keeps improving. Indian fast bowling stocks have never had this quantity, Umesh being 3rd or 4th Seamer - the norm was more like Dinda or Vinay kumar once you got past the first 2. Makes a big difference. express bowling and Mosher 2

He is now looking in the direction of the stumps at the point of delivery instead of his head falling away. Yadav has been bowling much more accurately from the South Africa test series 2015. I had posted a list of his improved ER ( Economy Rate ) in test matches starting from that series too. He has to improve his bouncer though and increase its frequency too. Also, while bowling inswingers, he is often targeting the leg stump and he should change that to targeting the top of off stump. If he wants to bowl at the death then his yorkers need improvement. This is how he has fared in tests starting from the SA series 2015. Bowling average of 27 in this period now compared to 36 overall. I just noticed that his strike rate looks much worse. I guess that is a function of only playing in flat conditions. express bowling 1

His SR should improve if he gets chances to play on green tracks or helpful conditions. sandeep, Mosher and New guy 3

Liked your analysis....Most likely he might fix all of those problems....Infact it's pretty hard Fixing the in-swingers will help him tremendously both in ODI's and Tests. So that should be his priority express bowling 1

Vilander Posted October 17, 2016 Posted October 17, 2016 The delivery to get Ross Taylor. Lol. Its often these unplayable deliveries that Umesh bowls, he is a test bowler where he can take his time and bowl to a plan given to him not be worried to improvise by himself or defend just attack all the time. tweaker 1

He was our bowler with the most potential when he came in, yet they wasted so many years of his career before finding a glitch in his action? Blame lies with Indian domestic system which has so inefficient coaches and Dhoni and Umesh who could have helped each other I watched the highlights against kiwis odi gamr and in that i Could see Umesh and Dhoni avoiding each other even after fall of wicket. its no good Edited October 17, 2016 by mishra tweaker and express bowling 2

He is in and around 140's these days with the quickest being 145-146K's. Maybe he has sacrificed a bit of pace for control. Earlier his quickest ball would be nearing 150's. Look at the video below, Yadav bowling 152.5K's , ball is on to Dilshan before he could even react. He had so much potential when he came onto the scene but his career has been up and down so far. Anyhow, you dont absolutely need two team players to get along. They are professionals. They can work together as team despite the difference tweaker 1

It seems like they hire coaches, like Joe Dawes, and then don't even monitor progress.
maniac Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 Umesh and Shami we might finally have 2 seasoned spearheads in our ranks and add Bhuvi a very intelligent bowler to a mix.......I think we may win some overseas tests after all in the next 3-4 years. tweaker 1

IMO, MSD still picking him shows he is ready to ignore this. he is thinking of his retirement and legacy. But what happens if someone keeps on reminding in public and making it really uncomfortable for him Its not good for team spirit. Till now its NOT openly discussed in media. But I can guarantee you. Unlike Kiwis, when Englad travel to India, This will be one thing they make sure that they ask our players , As often as they can. tweaker 1
