Umesh is slowly coming of age??

He's definitely not the spraygun he used to be.  Improvement is there.  Hope he sustains it, because with his pace, he could win India games if he keeps improving.  Indian fast bowling stocks have never had this quantity, Umesh being 3rd or 4th Seamer - the norm was more like Dinda or Vinay kumar once you got past the first 2.  Makes a big difference.

If he can sustain his accuracy, it will be great news for  Indian cricket as Umesh  has the pace and movement.

 

 

 

 

I just noticed that his strike rate looks much worse. I guess that is a function of only playing in flat conditions.

And showing the patience of bowling the same delivery again and again  rather than going for magic deliveries on flat tracks.   His SR should improve if he gets chances to play on green tracks or helpful conditions.

Liked your analysis....Most likely he might fix all of those problems....Infact it's pretty hard

Fixing the in-swingers will help him tremendously both in ODI's and Tests. So that should be his priority

Its often these unplayable deliveries that Umesh bowls, he is a test bowler where he can take his time and bowl to a plan given to him not be worried to improvise by himself or defend just attack all the time.

Yep his pace has dropped. He is in and around 140's these days with the quickest being 145-146K's. Maybe he has sacrificed a bit of pace for control. Earlier his quickest ball would be nearing 150's. Look at the video below, Yadav bowling 152.5K's , ball is on to Dilshan before he could even react. He had so much potential when he came onto the scene but his career has been up and down so far.

So I noticed it correctly. Anyhow, you dont absolutely need two team players to get along. They are professionals. They can work together as team despite the difference

I agree, poor coaching on every level, but one would expect much more from a wealthy board like the BCCI. It seems like they hire coaches, like Joe Dawes, and then don't even monitor progress.

Umesh and Shami we might finally have 2 seasoned spearheads in our ranks and add Bhuvi a very intelligent bowler to a mix.......I think we may win some overseas tests after all in the next 3-4 years.

IMO, MSD still picking him shows he is ready to ignore this. he is thinking of his retirement and legacy. But what happens if someone keeps on reminding in public and making it really uncomfortable for him

 

Its not good for team spirit. Till now its NOT openly discussed in media. But I can guarantee you. Unlike Kiwis, when Englad travel to India, This will be one thing they make sure that they ask our players , As often as they can.

As I said dont think its a big issue. Yadav is not a aggressive personality and nor is he a superstar in the team to cause team spirit issues.
