Malcolm Merlyn Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 After a poor performance at Rajkot the next test is in Vizag. What changes do we need? Drop Mishra for Pandya?Or Nair? Bring in A spinner for Yadav? tweaker 1
sourab10forever Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 I don't want to see changes but looks like they will get in an extra batsmen. Also @tweaker using this to remind you that you have the next match thread. velu and tweaker 2
SUMO Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 karun nair in place of yadav if possible...rahul in place of gambo tweaker 1
Sandeep99 Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Rahul Vijay Pujara Kohli Rahane Ashwin Saha Jadeja Mishra/Pandya Ishant Shami
sandeep Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 I think same team. Mishra's last hurrah unless he comes through with a quality performance. Vizag's a turner, and calls for 3 spinners. No sense in playing the 2nd off-spinner when you do have a leg-spin option, even though its one that has failed to meet expectations. He was ineffective, but not horrible. So not much choice, really. tweaker 1
Jimmy Cliff Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 There's no way Gambhir should play if KLR is fit. Vilander 1
Iconoclast Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 No changes will be made for the next match ... teams rarely drop someone after just one test. After the second test I suspect both GG and Barbie's spots will be up for grabs.
GautiMaan Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 (edited) Pandya should be able to do the job that Yadav was doing with the ball in this match and hopefully add the X factor with the bat(hopefully he is not too maniacal in his approach). Gambhir needs to go,If he had managed to survive even ten overs we would'nt have been in the panic situation that we were eventually in. Edited November 13, 2016 by GautiMaan tweaker and Vilander 2

That's unrealistic. Umesh seems to be in the best bowling form of his life at the moment. Pandya is a 4th/5th relief bowling option at the moment. Gambo did a decent job in the 1st innings. But yeah, he is just keeping the spot warm for Rahul. In a way its good, it would have gotten messy if he had done better than he has. Lannister and Mosher 2
ShebbySB Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 (edited) Our 3 spinners were equally ineffective so dropping only Mishra will not be fair,if any I'd replace him with Jayant as there are many left handed batman in the Eng line up and he's an offie. Jayant bats well too.If Rahul is fit I'd choose him over Gambhir and replace Umesh with Hardik. My line up:- Gambhir/Rahul (if fit) (Bat) Vijay (Bat) Pujara (Bat) Kohli (Bat) (c) Rahane (Bat) Hardik (Bat/Seam) Ashwin (Bat/Spin) Saha (Bat/Keep) Jadeja (Bat/Spin) Jayant (Spin/Bat) Shami (Seam) Still with 3 genuine spinners,2 seamers and better equipped with bat.I think it's gonna be a turner so don't expect a lot from the seamers. This according to me is a well balanced side with all bases covered. Edited November 13, 2016 by ShebbySB G_B_, tweaker and Lannister 3

philcric Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Dont think KL Rahul can make it to the 2nd test as hes playing the Ranji game. indian team should place a request to Karnataka team to let him go right away. Mishra must be dropped for his bowling batting fielding and the general lack of energy. K Yadav must replace him on form and also being a chinaman bowler for variety n plenty of left handers in Eng. Vijay Rahul (GG if KL unavailable) Pujara * Kohli Rahane Ashwin + Saha Pandya / K Yadav (based on pitch) Jadeja Shami U Yadav Mosher 1

G_B_ Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Rahul Vijay Che Virat Rahane Ash Nair Saha Jadeja Bhuvi Shami IMO atleast Bhuvi brings swing early on to the party and is a more than handy bat. Nair is also a handy bowler. IMO looking at Ash and Sir struggle we need to double down on the batting side of things. WeStMiDz and beetle 2

Umesh doesn't deserve to be dropped - He created so many chances in the 1st innings. And on a non-helpful track, he's a better choice than Bhuvi, now that he can be counted on not to gift easy runs. And I'm saying that as a serious fan of Bhuvi. philcric, G_B_ and Mosher 3
ShebbySB Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Umesh is not losing his spot..it's kind of horses for courses. It's Shami,Umesh,BK,Ishant in the pecking order.
