How would Kohli have played against Ashwin on this type of wicket - who would have won the battle ?

Kohli does not like to step out..I reckon, Ashwin would get the better of Kohli on this type of wicket had they played against each other.

One year ago ...i would have said that Ashwin would win.

 

Now...I am not sure......Kohli has improved a LOT on turning tracks and generally against spinners.

 

It could be Kohli winning one day and Ashwin on another.

Kohli would have won ,throughout the series as well had he faced ashwin.these pitches are not rank turners.on pitches similar to saf last year,ashwin will own Kohli hands down

Well, the way this Mumbai pitch has been on day 3. Kohli would not have survived if Ashwin sniffed a wicket or so.

 

Ashwin has the ability to bowl unplayable balls when he has his tail up.

Looking at how Buttler applied himself against Ashwin, I'd say Kohli would have smasehd Ashwin to all parts.. must definitely be a battle for the ages though!

Ashwin might find few edges more from Kohli's bat than some of the other spinners in the world but I think Kohli in this form would dominate any bowler, including Ashwin. May be Ashwin might fox him one game, he surely won't spare Ashwin in other games, such is the batsman Kohli. Too damn good against spin. He will milk Ashwin for singles in different areas on field and on deliveries where Ashwin is usually dominating over other batsmen.

Kohli . His wrist work is phenomenal. He is a bit like Azharuddin. Remember when Mendis was weaving magic around our players he showed how it should be done. Same way with chucker Ajmal. Possibly one of the few players who dominated Ajmal in the world when he was at his peak.
