G_B_ Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Hmm feel Lyon n zampa better than English spinners. But aussie batsman shitter Sent from my Wileyfox Swift using Tapatalk
Ankit_sharma03 Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 After facing NZ n Eng spinners well those two wud be a lil less of threat . They ll take wkts but wont put up a series a turning perfomance. Eng, Sa, Nz were tougher oppponent than the current aussie side.

How ru declaring Adam zampa better when he is yet to play a test. He may be come out damn good or even bad. But let him play 1st to be declared better than moeen ali ( who freaked us out in eng) Santner sodhi (who did destroy us in T20 WC). Rashid who still has 22 wkts in the series, Tahir (who was badly used by amla, who knws how well or bad does smith uses his spinner in India) For spinners, its very imp that their batsman give them big total. How wud lyon or zampa be effective if their batsman would even struggle to give them good total. Our batsman will play spin far better than start of season as now they have played against quality spin throughout the season. Length for spinner are completely diff in India thats y good overseas spinner struggle in India. How r u sure that zampa who hasnt even debut in test matches. M pretty sure Lyon n Zampa wont be any better than Nz, SA and ENg spinner infact rahul, vijay and kohli will take a liking for Zampa. He might be effective against tail but against our top order i have serious doubts. 9 hours ago, sscomp32 said: Zampa if picked can be very dangerous. He is much much better than Rashid. I really would like to see how he copes up with weather, SG ball which is better for spinner but still diff to kookabura, Change in length, Against batsman who have now played against spin for whole season. Test matches are all together a diff game. Neither do i see their batsman giving a good total their spinners to attack. express bowling, adi B, Bystander and 1 other 4
WC2011INDIA Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 If we don't beat Australia 5-0 I will be disappointed because they are no where as good as England in the subcontinent and you can see how much they are struggling.
gattaca Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 I would watch out for Lyon. Zampa bowls too many loose balls last I saw. Lyon did good on last tour. Hopefully we don't prepare rank turners but pitches that turn from day 3.
Bigg Brother Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Australia have Starc who can finish off our tail quickly which England have struggled.. sandeep 1
sandeep Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Aussie series definitely has the potential to be competitive. Its by no means an easy whitewash for the taking.

Bowling wise- yes they'll be competitive but India have too many quality batsmen till the end who'll grind and grind aussies . Batting wise- they are a joke on even semi turners!!

Well considering we are playing only 4 tests, even if we had Ambrose/Walsh/Holding, 5-0 would be out of the question. express bowling 1

But SL spinners are arguably lesser than ours in the collective sense. Herath is, in my opinion, better than Jaddu - but on SC conditions not by that much. Although Dilruwan has a solid record, I don't rate him in the same caliber as Ashwin. Jayant is an effective third spinner too. Hence, I would expect Aus to have a tougher time.

That's assuming Oz bats stay static and don't make any improvements in their batting against spin since the SL series - could well turn out to be true, but is a self-serving assumption to make about your opponent. For example, Adil Rashid, for all his struggles, has definitely demonstrated improvement as a bowler in this series. On the batting front, the likes of Stokes, Buttler and Bairstow have shown that they have learned to bat reasonably well against spin - Buttler was shockingly poor against spin in that Champions trophy final - recall his choke-dismissal against Jadeja? I think it was. Definitely has improved. No reason to think that none of the Aussie bats can make similar strides in their game.

One could easily say that Rahane, KL Rahul, Nair, etc (to a lesser extent Saha) have not handled spin and pace that well, and that they could improve. In fact, there is room for improvement for both our own spinners as well.

Yes, I concur mostly - I think that at least 1-2 of the Aus bats could surprise us with their improvement (apart from the great Stewie).
SLICKR392 Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Adam Zampa? LOL! No one is going to win a series in India with a spinner having that name. Lyon went through a trauma back in 2013. Might end up retiring after this series. Laaloo 1
