jusarrived Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 Has been a extremely busy year , havent been able to give a lot of family time . Havent had time to read , barely read 2-3 books this whole year . So thats the disappointing part . Work is satisfactory happy with wat am doing now , relative to past 2-3 years . Thats a plus . Travel , which is very important . NYC was always one of the places I wanted to explore , finally took some time off on my last visit and spent a weak there . Surely visit again and hopefully dont have to wear 4 layers of clothes next time . Mariyam and Cricketics 2

tweaker Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 2016 was not a good year for me.Met with accident in the 1st week of January, had ribs fractured. Half the year was gone in recuperating. Gained lot of weight. This year will try to slim down to my original weight.

Book_Worm Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 Bought a flat for my father. That was very eventful and satisfying. Had health issues. Basically this year was a wake up call for me that i need to be healthy and work hard for it. All in all great year only because i feel my dad's wish of having his own house was fulfilled. tweaker, Sidhoni, beetle and 5 others 8

MechEng Posted December 31, 2016 Posted December 31, 2016 2016 to me was similar to 2014 and 2015. It's been a lengthy test of patience for me, unpredictable times for me. Cricketics and tweaker 2

US is very overrated they don't even give green cards to Indians any more like they used.

This year I watched a game first time in a stadium as well, though the test match got over very quickly inside 40 minutes on day 5.
Popular Post Cricketics Posted December 31, 2016 Popular Post Posted December 31, 2016 Would have loved to say excellent but I lost my two dear birds - Sun and Shine in difference of 3 days. Coming home now and not seeing them, feels weird but with time we are getting used to it. Overall, I had a pretty good year in life. Received my Air Traffic Controller license. Quit my IT job to play cricket for a decent pay for the first time in my life. To be able to get paid on the side from something which is my passion and my first love, is something I always wanted to and is something I will always cherish and be happy about. Other than that, met more celebrities at my work place etc. Life's great. Mariyam, tweaker, beetle and 7 others 10

I happen to read somewhere that it is among the most stressful jobs.

I happen to read somewhere that it is among the most stressful jobs. I have been working for almost 4 years at the same place but since I did not have license earlier, I could only deal at lower level dispatch where we interact with pilots after they "Touch-Down". I work at a fixed based operator, meaning, we take care of only private planes, so basically any celebrity who comes to Washington will land at our place only. Weather it is Pope, Dalai Lama, or it is Brad Pitt or any other sports personality, or even Narendera Modi(Though he went to Andrews Air Force last time), they all will land at our base and I will literally be meeting them in our lobby since they will walk past me. This is what makes my work fun. But now with license, I have to give one day to the main tower where I feel the environment is just too stressfull. I am wired up all the time. Even if i go to a vending machine to grab something quick, I have to carry my radio. Too much talking on the radio non stop, and too much screen capturing and focus on multiple screens and camera. Even in the middle of the night when Airport might look like ghost town, we can work like dogs and at times being wired up. I found it less stressfull back then as I would find time to meet, talk to all the cool celebrities. It is fine now stil, as I only work with main tower one day. It is definitely good for the money, but I am thinking of even giving that away to just enjoy the regular lower level dispatch work where I make some great friends from pilots to people from different parts of the world. sandeep, Book_Worm, tweaker and 2 others 5
