Disagree. We all saw how Yuvraj was struggling with the bat in recent WT20 and Asia Cup. Dhoni was comfortably our 2nd best batsman after Kohli. It was painful to see Yuvraj struggle against decent bowlers and his struggles have continued since 2012-13. It's time a youngster is given chances in his stead given CT and WC will be played away from the sub-continent.

That's one tourney Dhoni has been struggling for last 2 years AVG under 38.

YUvi was not highly successful even in ODIs at least for a decade, averaged less than 30 for long. It was only from 2005-06 onward he found some consistency.

Just like Rohit Sharma. Another struggler in ODIs for a good 5-6 years..until he was given a long run as opener and delivered. Maybe there is hope for Rahane.....nah. Missing the x factor.

He is definitely on radar of getting dropped as you can see after him being omitted from the 20 overs. Next 8 games are really crucial. Actually, next 3 games, as if he doesn't do well here in this series and Pant does okay in 2020, they might bring Pant in for Dhawan for the next ODI series.

DHawan does well when his spot is on the line. Always has. Won't be shocked if he does very well in one of the 3 ODIs.

Rahane has already batted at every possible number and hasn't shown that spark yet.

I don't mind as long as he is scoring runs. That pretty much goes with all the players. If he doesn't score enough, we need to try other players. Especailly after champions trophy as that is the time we start building up for the world cup.

Pictures can be misleading but Yuvi seems to have worked very hard on his fitness in the last few months. That, along with a recent 177 and 260 in Ranji....plus the  lack of punch hitters.....why the heck not.

In the same game that Yuvraj hit 260 DJ Hooda hit 293 at an even better strike rate,Hooda is young has shown big hitting ability in IPL and can bowl too,In other words he has the potential to be the next Yuvraj but our selectors dont have the vision to even select him in the T20 squad.

Didnt he N zaheer went to france for some fitness thing before they made a comeback post 2011  but failed miserbaly. Zaheer broke down soon and yuvraj was dropping many catches and looked absent minded.

It was not about fitness, he changed his stance , backlift, bat angle everything post 2012 and that affected his game badly

Id say, their work has been nothing noteworthy bordering on being idiotic. How can you not select even one promising quick in the warm-ups?

Nehra, Dinda, kumar and Mohit..seriously? Even a substandard automated selection algorithm would do a better job.

Is Dinda back???  WTF! :facepalm:He along with Vinee Koomaar should be ineligible to be included in the Indian team. We have seen enough of these guys and have seen nothing which shows they will do anything of note. They're old has beens who were never good and I would ratehr go with the youth than tried and tested failures who bring nothing of value to the team.

These selectors are proving time and again that they are rooted in the past and their regressive attitude is not going to help the team over the long term. Yuvraj is a very poor selection. He got plenty of chances and he wasted all of them and does not deserve to be back. Pant should have been selected in both ODI and T20 teams. What's the point of regurgitating the same players who we know have been unsuccessful in the recent past. Lets not live in their glory days that have long gone by. Lets live in the present. This selection committee is truly one of the worst in recent times.

Both these high jumpers have economy rates of nearly 6 in ODI's.They've been thrashed by every opposition they played against including Bangladesh and Zimbabwe and now the selectors are telling us they are still on the radar

Sadly and unfortunately our selectors take one step forward and two backwards. They did a good job in selecting Pant for T20s but then selected likes of Yuvraj, Rahane and Dinda for odis when Pant, Nair, Iyer etc. along with upcoming pacer(s) should've been preferred.

Completely agree with the sentiment. For some reason, these guys have myopic vision whereby they only see selective performances by past international players and not ones by the new crop of young players.

Can Kohli atleast demand for some young players? Or he has to go with what selectors dish out?

AT LEAST for WARMUP matches!??
