Yes, there came a time in the game at 70 for 4 where everyone had just forgotten about the victory and were just admiring the game being  player by Kohli. He was already playing a special knock with the situation we were in chasing 350, but as Yuvi and Dhoni got out, he kept playing and making it look ridiculously easy is what was the most special thing about the knock. His will to go after English attack from that situation instead of playing it safe is what took us to victory.

 

Also one of the best signs of captaincy was that he let Jadhav play his game of hitting instead of telling him like other captains to take your time just look to play slow and watch the ball which had Jadhav tried to approach that way, he might have gotten out early and we could have lost by 130-150 runs. He let Jadhav do his thing is what is a good sign of captaincy in such tricky situation.

Yes but he will burn out soon especially in ODIs...w/ no help from anyone else. As long as wins are coming he'll be ok...when losses start to happen, that's when burnout will come fast.

Yeah....the best way to prevent burnout is to develop / find some more dependable players who would ensure that we win even if Kohli fails.

Kohli hasn't become the batsman he is overnight. I believe KL Rahul has all the tools become another such player.

Needs to play more ODI'S hence. ODI cricket is the only format which allows you to do everything - Rotate, take your time, and even hit like twenty20.

 

 

It is important to give Rahul as many games as possible in ODI'S, even after some failures. Just like selectors showed so much faith in Rohit, and stuck with him, we can at least do little close to that with Rahul and give him a longer rope at least till end of this year and see where he stands as an ODI player.

There is lot of truth in that, but to be honest, only Kohli, or De Villers can pull out such knocks at this time of their careers. I don't think anyone else is capable of doing it consistently like Kohli and De Villers. So it is harsh on any other player to tell him to do something what Kohli did today.

 

We are one lucky group of fan group to have Kohli in our team.
