gakgupta Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 Needs to play more ODI'S hence. ODI cricket is the only format which allows you to do everything - Rotate, take your time, and even hit like twenty20. It is important to give Rahul as many games as possible in ODI'S, even after some failures. Just like selectors showed so much faith in Rohit, and stuck with him, we can at least do little close to that with Rahul and give him a longer rope at least till end of this year and see where he stands as an ODI player. Rahul is must in ODIs .... He is special player... Sent from my XT1068 using Tapatalk

coffee_rules Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 Kohli celebrates his appointment as captain of India across in all formats by getting past Sachin , most 100s in chases (Kohli 15 to SRT 14)!! Quote 15 Centuries by Kohli in successful chases in ODIs - the most by a batsman. Kohli surpassed Sachin Tendulkar's 14 hundreds. Both Kohli and Tendulkar have scored 17 centuries each while chasing, but Kohli has done so in 96 innings compared to Tendulkar's 232. Kohli averages 64.94 when chasing compared to 41.57 when batting first and 90.90 in successful run-chases. Fourteen of Kohli's hundreds in successful chases have come in day-night games, six more than any other batsman. express bowling and Cricketics 2

I know we have been obsessed with chasing, but keep the obsession going if we can do like this and Jadhav and co. can join the party with Kohli regularly. Ideally, I would like to also see India bat first in the series and set up a big total, but we are really good at chasing and can get only better if we can have guys like Jadhav, do their thing regularly alongside Kohli.
SRT100 Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 King Kohli is a very very very proud man. Probably more so than Ganguly. Im sure he knew his captaincy was going to be judged straight away after one game and he had to deliver a match winning knock after the bowling debacle. The mistake he is making is with the selection of the team. Pandey has to come in for Yuvraj/Dhawan. Both are finished as international players. tweaker 1
Asim Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 Don't know what Dhoni ind fans feel but I think he deserved to leave the field and play his last matches as a captain... although I know he himself is such a legend who do not care for such things... tweaker 1

narenpande1 Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 Wow... Kohli is such a dream !! i had said it many times on this forum that this guy is going to be far greater than anything seen in Indian cricket. Never before in Indian cricket, where obsession for personal milestones have for a long time been so celebrated has WINNING FOR INDIA been THE ONLY THING . Never before in Indian cricket have I seen a player with SO MUCH HUNGER to win. King Kohli inspires the whole team with his own performance - like no other Indian captain has ever done. I would love to see him carry India to test series victories overseas very routinely, wherein it is not just about winning a test here or there in places like Eng, Aus or Soutg Africa - it is about dominating a whole series there. We are truely blessed to have Kohli as the Pied Piper of team India express bowling, Mosher and Cricketics 3
narenpande1 Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 The way Kedar Jadhav play in the match situation PROVED how the ATTITUDE in Indian cricket has changed under Kohli. In another era, it would have been expected for a player to score at a strike rate of 70-80, make 50-100, cement his place in the side and India would have lost the game from a 70/4 situation. This absolute selflessness in the quest for an India win is one of Kohlis big gift to Indian cricket rkt.india, tweaker, express bowling and 1 other 4

Just to pretend that he is mahan? I dont remember any previous captains doing this Pretty sure he is not "hijacking" as such. Just watch what Kohli just said in post match presentation. Previous captains were not as experienced in captaincy as well.

Also Ganguly had Dravid as successor, so both were equals in terms of seniority. BTW this was first time there was more than one match in the "series".

Mosher Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 So refreshing to see an Indian captain who understands the importance of fast bowlers, always has their back and motivates them to perform better. You know things which a good captain is supposed to do. Even if they pick up 1 or 2 wickets in a test match he makes sure to praise them in post match interviews. Just have a look at this interview too. Praising Umesh's spell in the 1st innings, Ishant 's spell in the 2nd innings and BK's improvement in reverse swing. http://www.espncricinfo.com/india-v-bangladesh-2016-17/content/story/1082250.html maniac, Laaloo and express bowling 3
