jalebi_bhai Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 Should use him as a pinch hitter in T20. I'd use Hardik at 4. He's progressing well in ODIs so I wouldn't tinker with his batting position in ODIs. If Raina has to play, let him finish the innings with MS. Has played that role before. Rahul Kohli Pandey Pandya Raina Dhoni At least Pandey won't be wasted at 5 this way. Bystander 1
BeautifulGame Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 which knock? Against CSK in chepauk I think
King Tendulkar Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 Vision is first thing . Keep in team all limited overs formats and reap benefit in 2 or 2 years . yes we need his batting . Today one over and hit great shot but unlucky out pitch was was very sticky and perfect for spinners . Not every pitch is like this and extra seamer who is all rounder needed plus great felder in awful fielding unit. Plus dont we forget quick how well bowled in odis
gattaca Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 This question looks good for short term but long term this is not. We need someone like him.
putrevus Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 He has to develop his batting a lot if needs to play test cricket, I do not think he good enough to walk into the team as bowler alone yet.

Stokes is Raja Bhoj and he is Gangu theli. He still needs to get his chances and he has lot of improvement to do. Stokes was quite crap for a year or so while in England team pandya at same stage as stokes is miles better bowler and maybe equal batting wise stokes now has got there but how quick we forget his journey MCcricket and sandeep 2
King Tendulkar Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 All those after his head seaming all rounder is like gold dust in world cricket . We not had one since Dev when you compare his seam all rounder contenders in Indian cricket you will soon drop at pandya feet in remorse , unless you are a binny fan ! 78mph lollipops anyone ? chewy Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 yeah, like anyone else in the current team is capable of smashing sixes at will in T20s, coming late down the order is usually is high risk, there are more failures than successes, he has hardly played much T20Is, hopefully after he has batted around 20 innings, if maintains an batting average 15 at SR of 130+, and continues with his current bowling form, then he should be considered a success and rather persist with him through champions trophy at least.

Yes he lost some confidence and was dropped but there was never a question about his talent. I do not see the same batting ability or bowling ability from Pandya.
kosingh Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 Pandya has been unremarkable with the bat in domestic and IPL...can't expect him to offer much at the international level G_B_ 1

Stokes was a seriously crap bowler for England . Has improved but even as we speak pandya maybe better bowler batting stokes struggled for a long while . Yet few games in pandya already wanted to be axed ffs where is the vision ?

Loool didnt even bowl today as sticky wicket perfect for spinners hence raina bowled his quota . Who knows pandya may have bowled well today lol
King Tendulkar Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 I am still confused what he did wrong today to deserve this thread lol hit a lovley straight non hack shot today when got run out by i must be on strike dhoni

He was the leading scorer in last year's SMA trophy.Played some big knocks for Baroda batting at no.3 MCcricket 1
Bystander Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 India can't afford to lose this guys potential. Development of fast bowling allrounders takes time. It is the investment we need to make for long term. Coming to this thread, just let loose this guy at @4 or around 8`14 overs where usually spinners operate. He is clean striker..even if he plays 10-15 balls, we would end up with above par scores most times. Coming in at death with few deliveries against best death bowlers is tough for him at this stage of career. His bowling is still work in progress. Team management need to be wise in maximizing the resources at hand Laaloo, express bowling, King Tendulkar and 3 others 6
cowboysfan Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 This guy has no redeeming value at all.i am astonished so many of you rate him. G_B_ 1
puneet28 Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 People have forgotten that he is not being utilised in a proper manner. How can you guys forget his 15 ball 31 knock in WT20 against Bangladesh when he was sent up in the order. He gave much needed momentum then. We need to use him as floater and ask to play freely. I bet, had he played 26 balls instead of Manish Pandey, scores would have been different. He surely would have scored around 40-45. He can hit off spinners easily. There will be days when he will fail even batting up in the order but in the longer run, he will be our big hitter in T20s. We just need to persist with him. Guys here have become so impatient. sandeep, Bystander and Laaloo 3
randomGuy Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Pandya is decent. More deserving than yuvraj at the very least MCcricket 1

Some of these people are so fickle. This guy is the closest thing to a fast bowling all rounder we have had since Kapil Dev. If we can give hacks like Jadeja umpteen chances, then Pandya deserves them too. He has kept improving each time. His bowling has improved. His fielding was always good. And his batting has improved too. Much faster than Jadeja ever did. These dhoni chamchas I tell you. Dhoni never supported his fast bowlers and so his chamchas will come here and demean them any chance they can get. puneet28, MCcricket, express bowling and 2 others 4 1
