yes that just means everything depends on him ,he fails team fails

Well the team neither failed in ODI 2,3 in SL, nor here :)

Instead 2 of the most trolled cricketers in Rohit and Dhoni perform in such cases.

What? He didn't really get out on a unplayable ball. Maybe instead of taking risk, he should do what dhoni does and take a single and get off to the other end as soon as possible, then ride off others knocks like jadhavs and pandya and bhuvi and then score a few freebies from a trundler like Faulkner.

Kohli has still not rectified his technique against outswing.

He is not making any adjustments for the outswinging ball .... still going for the expansive drives to the away going ball.

Needs to work on this issue ASAP.

He needs to leave more outswinging deliveries, especially at the beginning of the innings.

Don't play away from his body .... play only when the ball is under his eye.

His technique is actually better. It's just that he has habbit of playing all deliveries. Need to leave more deliveries outside off. This is something which can be rectified by lot of practice and strong determination before the game.

His technique of playing outswingers is better compared to England 2014 .... but not fully rectified.

Propensity to play away from his body to outside-off-stump balls is a part of batting technique too.

2 paced pitch .... commentators pointing this out repeatedly

Some balls were hitting the cracks and flying through at pace with bounce  .... many others were coming slowly off the deck

Some movement in the first ten overs

Low scoring match .... batting looked difficult

Opposition was Australia

Kohli .... 92 off only 107 balls .... highest scorer of the match

Looked resolute today ... left many off-stump balls initially, got set and then tried to hit....., that is the right approach

Man of the match

@Trichromatic  today's innings worth it or was the pitch flat because Virat scored runs ?

Definitely worth it.

This inning along with his inning in World T20 2016 against Pak are now 2 of his LOI innings in this list. It was not easy to bat here and he just kept his calm. It's not always that we see Kohli cutting down strokes and playing waiting game. Generally if he stays on pitch, he remains fluent for entire duration of his stay.

These are good signs and indicate that he will do well in upcoming away series. Not that he wasn't doing well already.

His 88 in a low scoring game in SA in 2010 was far more challenging than these 2 innings. Far better bowling attack and help for fast bowlers.

good that you acknowledged two of his efforts but off top of my head i can think of many more innings like 82 vs aus at mohali, his 100 vs wi at port of spain 2013 , 80 odd vs sa at P.E etc but lets leave it at that

What about that 50 he made once against the windies I think on a spicy Barbados pitch? That was earlier in his career.
