At home with spinners being our most potent weapons, he had a great record with just the England series as a setback.

India have always had a good record at home with or without him.

W/L ratio of 7 over 30 matches is unparalleled.

Should have been sacked years earlier and dropped soon after

Yeah, and you have all the proofs with you to claim so. You always did have them going by your posts.

Let us not even go to the part where he favors players. Every captain does. So does Virat. The only difference is if Kohli loses, the opposition has poked a bear, a Grizzly or Polar or whatever. Dhoni loses, he's corrupt and connected to Dawood.

Personally prefer Kohli over Dhoni as the Test captain, but Dhoni, as a captain, has picked his set of players just like every other captain has. Dhoni has more trophies than corrupt cases on his shelf, and I would take that any given day.

It's still home. You don't need to guide someone at home to win test matches. It's basic in India for an Indian captain. Leadership quality, that's a different debate altogether.

Mixing up batting/wicketkeeping with captaincy

His captaincy in test was his worst attribute, his mindset n attitude alone was a cause of few losses n the 2 year loosing streak, batting wise he was mediocre but not bad in test , keeping was decent though he hated keeping against pace n preferred Trundlers both as keeper n Captain

I think that MSD retired from test cricket too sonn.He could have simply left the captainy and played as wktkeeper batsman. He is miles beter than Saha and would have given the likes of pant time to mature. Also his expereince would have helped Kohli as a captain.Right now there is no experienced player to help out Kohli in the field.

What? India still has most experienced player out there. 76 tests are not less by any means.

Nope, he retired at least 4 years too late. And retire is a complementary word. He chickened out like a gutless coward in the midst of the Aussie series where we were 2-0 down and getting pummeled. As if the 0-8 humiliation, home series loss against England, missed catches, batting clownery and the next round of humiliation in RSA, NZ, Eng weren't enough for this shameless vulture. How he blocked the potential of so many promising youngsters, demoralized high quality pacers and picked favorites..... even if he becomes Swami Vivekananda in his post retirement life, that won't undo the evil he has unleashed on Indian cricket.

His favorites Ashwin and Jadeja are out of the team now? Those youngsters are in team and pacers have a better record?

Are you really suggesting that Indian team should throw out Ashwin and Jadeja?

Is Saha a young player?

When was the last time Ishant picked a 10-fer and Umesh picked a 5-fer? Must have been under some other captain.
