You are late buddy. I have added Ashwin as an all time great all rounder in Kapil Dev's league many moons ago.

He has the strike rate similar that of a great fast bowler.

 

25 5 wicket hauls and 9 4 wicket hauls, means 34 times he has picked 4 wickets or more in 88 innings.

 

If he doesnt pick 5 wickets for a couple of innings, people start wondering what's wrong.

To be honest, Ashwin hasn't displayed the same level of batting as Kapil yet. Yes, his average is similar,but Kapil batted in an era where there was, at-most 1 50+ averaging batsman and 1-2 40+ averaging batsman per team.
IIRC, through Kapil's career, only Gavaskar, Greg Chappell, Alan Border, Viv Richards and Javed Miandad averaged 50+

So Kapil's 32-33 average would be similar to 37-40 average today.

Plus Kapil got big scores against great bowling attacks, Ashwin's centuries so far have been against minnows.

I consider Ashwin an allrounder, but his batting is definitely not good enough to be put into a true allrounder bracket like Kapil.
