Ultimate_Game Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 Congrats to B'desh cricket team and their fans on beating SL away from home in a Test and squaring the series B'desh did have a Test win away from home against WI but it was a depleted WI team due to contracts related fiasco. IMO this is the best B'desh win away from home. They should have done so a lot earlier had Rashid Latif not cheated more than a decade ago but finally B'desh have won a Test away against a top Test nation. This should be a shot in the arm for them and hopefully they go from strength to strength a la 90s SL team. AuxiliA, rahulrulezz, OpeningBatsman and 5 others 8

B'desh was ahead of Pakistan when Rashid Latif claimed a bumped catch. The incident was so egregious that he was suspended for 5 odis by the match referee. B'desh went on to lose the match by 1 wkt and would surely have won had Latif not cheated. here are the links... http://www.espncricinfo.com/pakistan/content/story/433973.html http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/cricket/3086780.stm That would've been the first overseas win for B'desh against an established Test nation. chewy, Vepu and TheWall 3
OpeningBatsman Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 Really well played. Not easy chasing 190 odd in SL. Vepu, express bowling, Cricketics and 1 other 4

Reason Ireland has stagnated is coz ICC didn't reward them at the right time. They should've been given more backing post 2007 or 2011 WC. Since they received no support most of their top players defected to play for England or gave up playing for Ireland in favor of county cricket. Likes of Eoin Morgan, Boyd Rankin and Ed Joyce (in his prime) chose to play for England with a few other better players who exclusively decided to play county cricket. Imagine if they had all continued to play for Ireland if Ireland had been handed a Test spot. I'm sure they would've been stronger than Zim team of 90s and much stronger than the current B'desh and SL Test teams.
mancalledsting Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 Let's hope they continue progressing in the right direction....with the decline of Pak, Windies and Sri Lanka- world cricket needs some more decent teams to be worth watching Vepu 1
Zero_Unit Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 congrats. I have to say, SL in deep sheet winning the ODI's with these kind of performance. Not to mention that format is BD's fort. Vepu and Prince_ 1 1
Lala Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 Congrats BANGLA!!! next target is India Vepu and Prince_ 2
Cricketics Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 This SL team isn't that weak. They beat Australia 3-0 too and winning 3-0 against Australia is always great achievement even at home. So Bangladesh beating this side is a big achievement for Bangladesh. Their team showed some fight in India too but were out classed by our side. Overall, it is only good for cricket if more test teams are competitive. Congrats to Bangladesh Vepu and Prince_ 2
Vepu Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 Thnks guys. Indians were really appreciative in cricinfo for a change. Prince_ 1
Yoda-esque Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 Always believed in their ability.I am sure that this will make them confident enough to achieve bigger things.Congrats. Vepu and Prince_ 2
