Shamim.Miah
Dale Steyn - Kagiso Rabada - Morne Morkel - Vernon Philander Vs. Indian batting line-up. This is a deadly bowling unit. How tough will it be for the indian batsman to handle those pacers in SA? I reckon it would be a struggle for any team. As India are a subcontinent team, the sudden move to SA from the standard slow, flat wickets can cause them big problem. Who do you think will shine amongst the indian batsman and bowlers? what are the expectation? Link to comment
chewy
Unlikely all four will play together, Maharaj will be lone spinner and they will continue picking Phelkuwayo as the black quota pick express bowling 1 Link to comment

That's three, what is the quota? to pick 4 black quota picks? Edited December 26, 2017 by Shamim.Miah Link to comment
Shamim.Miah
At first-class level the number is six non-whites of which two have to be black African. It is non-negotiable. For the Proteas, as the national side are known, the quota number is the same as at first-class level but it is more flexible and an average is taken across the year, rather than implemented in every match. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/cricket/2017/07/01/crickets-quota-system-has-impacted-south-africa/ They can still play Steyn and Morkel. But have to find a good combination to keep quota. Link to comment

MCcricket
Indian wkts are no longer flat slow, but sporty, n offer some bounce especially last couple of years, Steyn is making a comeback after a long break, n is no longer the same force, Morkel too is coming after a break, Think India will do better then when it drew the series away in SA, Viajy, Pujara, Rahane, Virat are good enuff only wish Dhawan wasn't there n KL Rahul was, Bowling wise Shami could have a break through year n in these two years be counted as world class pacer, BK will do well n Bumrah can as well, Pandya will get wkts only worry is jaded Umesh, hope Saini is picked also not to forget Saha n Ashwin will contribute significantly as well, hope they play Kuldeep or Chahal max one spinner . Suhaan
Great bowling lineup....Dhavan at the top makes things easier for these four..Kohli has a problem outside offstump. If we dont get a good start (which is bound to happen)Kohli will have to face the new ball Link to comment

Pandya is a must as he is two player in 1. i am good even if india does not play a single Spinner as africans are dead scared of ashwin and even jadeja , pitches they will offer will never turn , though they have TAHIR and that Maharaj..i think they use their spinner as a defensive bowler to make their pacers relax a bit. if the pitch assists spinners even little then Ashwin becomes very deadly which is too dangerous for Africa. i think we would get pitch like dharamshala where we won against lanka but in first innings the pitch was unplayable..may not be that much unplayable but pitches are going to be pace friendly. so key will be VIJAY and Pujara ..if they score 50 off 100 balls each ..india is winning bcos dhawan will score run a ball even if he scores 5 runs...though he seems in great form ..kohli too can score 100 off 100...pandya cud also score a quick 50 as he bats well against short pitched bowling. He faced average 95 balls per innings, for an opener that is very impressive. If he can't replicate that feat this time, I fear even our middle order stats will take a big hit. Link to comment
Gollum
Last time they had Tahir, Peterson and Duminy as their spin options now they have Keshav Maharaj...no respite. Also Kallis was mediocre with the ball last time, I expect Saffers to play all 4 of their premium quicks this time. Link to comment
