A very memorable victory. Especially in context of the tournament. After getting mauled by NZ ,a lot of things needed to fall in place for us to reach semis. NZ had to beat Australia and we had to win 3 consecutive games.

After this miraculous match and Kohli's masterclass against Australia when we finally reached semis, it felt as if we were destined to win that WC. But Alas! It didn't happen. F*ck you Rahane!

My overall memory still is the below par batting line up due to which we had a limited chance. Rohit/Dhawan have been primarily odi players carried to t20s. Yuvraj & Dhoni were done players. Kohli & Raina were the only ones who could get going from ball one.

Yep, it was not an quintessential T20 side, plus Hardik and Bumrah were in their infancy in intl cricket.

Not to forget, Ashwin-Jadeja as spin duo, gosh that team should have never made the SF in first instance lol

I'm not sure if the spin duo was that bad in the subcontinent, would have to look up the numbers. If I remember correctly, it was Mishra & Ashwin that carried us to the 2014 final and again the batting fecked up royally.

Our spin duo wasn't that bad in the 2016 edition, Ashwin was nowhere near as good as 2014 but even in this Bangla match it was he who led the comeback from a hopeless match situation and got the MOM. Then the spinners clicked against Pak in the group stage as well. We lost that WT20 because of under par batting, thankfully Kohli was GOATing, otherwise we would have probably lost all matches.

We lost the SF because of a number of reasons, Rahane's tuk tuk and Dhoni having one of his worst captaincy nights played a big part, as did the no balls, dropped catches and excessive dew. Plus pitch/ground dimensions/conditions were tailor-made for WI hacks, and to their credit when they are motivated and firing they are a scary T20 team.

Potentially Bangladesh could have

  • knocked us out of a WC QF
  • knocked us out of WT20 woh bhi hamare ghar mein
  • beaten us in an Asia Cup final (50 overs)
  • beaten us in the final of a tri-nation (Nidahas) tourney

We have dodged so many bullets, luck may finally desert us at a crucial juncture and Toygers will become unbearable :fear1:. Results column don't show the true picture, boy have they improved in shorter formats. Respect :hatsoff:
