Nikola
Can Bumrah get Past S.F. Barnes Ranking of 932 in future? Surely has some chance if he keeps himself fit for all tests. Real McCoy 1 Link to comment

They acheived after rankings were introduced) After rankings were introduced only Jadeja and Ashwin Link to comment
Vilander
This is because of form slump from Kohli he should have picked up a couple of 100s more in wi series. Link to comment

team_india_lover2019
Congrats to Smith, he deserves to be #1 and he plays for the team unlike the Rat. Link to comment
ShoonyaSifar
Kohli is averaging 43 in last 12 months, average of 40 vs Aus, 34 here, massively underperformed. Hit his Test peak vs England and has been steadily declining since then. putrevus 1 Link to comment

Retrospective rankings at best are a present day view of an earlier time. In my opinion i would not give them the same heft as current time rankings post the time rankings were introduced and followed by players and administrators alike. Folks at that time did not even know there was a point to winning a dead rubber test or playing as many games etc. Link to comment
Tibarn
Kohli's avg in WI seems to be permanently set as mediocre. That first ball duck pretty much sealed it. That is where he debuted IIRC, and he really struggled his first series there. That is back when he struggled vs short bowling worse than Raina. Even after that, he has only scored 1 century there, although that was a double. Link to comment

Turning_track
Steve Smith is a very special player , batting at some other level in tests so not surprised by him regaining no.1 spot after so few innings. His consistency allowed him to achieve 2nd best ever ratings only behind Sir Don Bradman which is some feat. Link to comment
Deleted_User_1
Smith's average is 10 points higher than Kohli, wow! Like they say first there is Smith, then daylight, and then Rat begging for cheese!! Link to comment
Tibarn
A bit of a misleading title , Kohli lost it more than Smith won it in the current re-rankings. Windies seems to be Kohli's boogie "country". Link to comment
cricketfan28
should take it back . Link to comment
