In this history of the world lands have been bought and sold.

In 1867, US purchased giant sized Alaska from Russia for $7.2 million in that days currency.

Pakistan is perpetually begging. CPEC investment  of 40 billion dollars is all China loans.

Can India pay off the Pak ruling establishment and deep state for a sum total of 70-80 billion dollars to vacate FULL PoK without war  under the aegis of UN?

For the corrupt in Pak - both military and political elite this is a great deal.  It will bring several decades of relief for Pak if the money is properly utilized.

We should not think of it as paying money to get back our own land - this is smart thinking.

China is the real enemy. Once PoK is integrated back with India. CPEC is history.

Kashmir problem is solved.

The direct and indirect cost of the to fight insurgency in Kashmir to fight militancy over the last 30 years - has been a hell lot more than 70-80 billion dollars in today's currency.

I think this is the smartest solution -Pak is for sale, always has been

This won't "solve" anything.  We gave them back 90,000 prisoners in exchange for 'solving' the Kashmir dispute.  When their army folks found out they hung Zulfiqar Bhutto.

Until Pakistan gets azaadi from their military, this 'problem' will stay.  The army needs the excuse of "evil India" to justify looting their awaam.  They are zamindaars in uniform.  They are already making billions every year.

@sandeep

Nopes. We made a mistake in 1971, when we had them under our boots disintegrated with 90,000 PoWs.

IG made a mistake of being magnanimous to Pak, thinking we already dismembered their eastern flank - taking out the rest of Kashmir would be too much.

Alot of water has flown the bridge since then. Also at that time -Pak was  prospering more than India and not radicalized like it started to get under Zia ul Haq.

Current Pak  is in the biggest state of financial misery that they have been since independence.

Most of us dont realize that Pakistan is not being beholden to China out of choice - they have no choice.

They also know - China is exploiting and milking the bloody hell out of them.

Our pay off would allow them to get out of the clutches of China and be financially independent.

If our leadership is smart enough - this is the best way to crack the Pak-China nexus.

China wants Pak under its thumb as a submissive dog. Pak has no option currently than to be that dog.

Our pay off can ensure that Pak gets breathing space and financial independence from China - and we get back our land for good.

You are underestimating the hate factor.  Pakistani Gernails would rather have their people be slaves to the chinese instead of make peace with "Hindus".  You also forget - the Gernails are not hurting directly from all the financial troubles.  They still do fine.

Naaa... times have changed, what has not changed is the fact that Pak elite can make chutya of their awam all the time. This time around they can sell something like  humne hindu baniye ko loot liya...

No harm in dangling the carrot for a permanent solution of Kashmir given Paks utter financial misery and reliance on China.

Even if the jernails are not entirely hurting now and even prospering - they will think through benefits of a massive pay day vs.  uncertainty wrt how long their can milk their country slowly

Why are we getting too worked up on Kashmir? Let Pak get bankrupt and keep focus on Kashmir.

You are missing the wood for the trees.

The idea is also to break the Sino-Pak axis. China has been using Pak as a catpaw against India.

Taking over our own territory from Pak in Kashmir will end CPEC ( which even Pak generals know is going to be a painful debt trap)

If Pak can "sell" Kashmir to Ind for $X, why not to China for $X+Y?

Was that a serious comment ?

China has no locus standi in Kashmir aside from Aksai Chin. China will actually formally and foolishly invite India for war if it tries to

"buy" PoK from Pak. China will not do that - it knows it will be a provocation like Pak did in Kargil

That is your assumption, along with the idea that Kashmir can be on the market. FYI, Pak has already given land to China in Kashmir. Read: https://711am.wordpress.com/2014/10/29/kashmir-a-land-that-should-never-have-been-a-problem/

If it is about $$$, the selling party will go to the highest bidder and work the "details" out

Throwing money at something will never work. America tried it with pakistan and look how it turned out. pak army knows the kashmir issue is their trump card not getting money at the time being. Kashmir is a gift that keeps on giving even if the pakistani masses starve

Never negotiate with the Devil. Pak state (you know who) is extremely sinister, their people have been brainwashed into making destruction of us Endians their only life goal....khwaab dekhna chor do. Waise if it comes to bidding wars, there will be other countries who can easily raise the stakes beyond our aukaat, starting with Red Dragon.

Your understanding of facts is totally wrong. Pak China boundary settlement was completed in 1963 where Pak illigally ceded Shaksham valley to China. There is no land 'dispute' between Pak and China  since 1963 -  and so China has no semblance of locus standi Kashmir or buying Kashmir.

India's policy has been consistent over last 72 years - that PoK is Indian territory - China also accepts that the current Kashmir dispute is between India and Pakistan. Why would they hypothetically get into a 'cash deal' with Pak over handing over PoK, unless they want war with India- they would dare not do it. They know that this will ensure that forever they would make enemies and permanently lose a market of 1.3 billion people and ensure that India is firmly in the American camp actively and totally close out /block  Chinese passage through the Indian ocean region. Chinese are not foolish to do something like that to needle India.

NO. One does not buy back their robbed possessions from a thief.

Ok, then lets keep fight insurgency for few more decades with costs of ten of billions of dollars every year and immeasurable loss of lives.

The point is that they deal in land w/o giving two hoots about what India thinks. Your opinion is based on what India is supposed to think and what you believe, which is not a concern for either Pak or China .... CPEC corridor runs through PoK for e.g.

Better than bending over backwards and buying back our own stolen land from the next thief
