Your team for Edgbaston ODI vs Pakistan

meh.

I find India vs Pak matches extremely boring nowadays.

India vs Eng, India vs Australia and India vs SA are more entertaining.

Nowadays? When was the last time these two sides faced off?

Even with this line-up, we'll thrash Pakistan. No need for our main guys. They'll have off day and watch all the fun.

Dont know how people are dropping shami , he is ur best bowler.

Shami is miles ahead as a bowler from Bhuvi

Just look at his odi record......he can bowl at start n death equally well

It shud be only between ashwin vs bhuvi depending on the pitch and they both do well against pak

The tricky question is whether to play both Ash and Jaddu at the expense of that 3rd seamer?  And the follow-up to that - if we are to play only one, which one plays.   If Yuvi is bowling well, then Ash might come back into contention.

Because some people get too excited by IPL stats. Bhuvi hasn't yet shown that he can take wickets in LOI. Shami is our best bowler by far.

All wud depend on pitch n opposition.

Generally under he liked playing a settled unit throughout tournament.

But kohli prefer horses for courses type. Would be Interesting to see .

6th bowler worries me- as yuvi havent bowled much ( god knws y)

Kedhar has been keeping for RCB........some how they ll miss the rhythem.

They need few few overs in both warmup games . They ll come in play at some stage so we cant afford them bowling full tosses each over just becoz they are out practice

Ash is really a rhythm bowler and has been recovering from that serious hernia.  He's going to be rusty.   But we'll need him against the likes of Aus/SA/Eng - lots of left-handers who don't play spin that well.

Yuvi hasn't bowled much because he isn't that great a bowler, and SRH have a settled successful bowling attack.   For the first time in quite a while, the form and success of our spinners is going to be a bigger question mark than the pacers.   With the killer Bees - (Bumrah and Bhuvi) - backed up by a fit Shami, and the handy part-time option of gujju lukdya,  Not worried about 30 overs of pace at all.

he bowls well against even pak to but even bhuvi does.

Yuvi didnt even bowl in domestic....he aint a gr8 bowler but always a smart one who generally gets good breakthroughs.

IF shami is fit , i wnt worry but if umesh plays ill worry about 5 overs.....as he shows two different sides of him in 5-5 overs

Somewere we missed a trick by not taking kuldeep, he cud have been the x-factor specially when ashwin is coming back from injury

Yeah - with Ash and Jaddu - they have loads of experience, and less likely to get totally destroyed, but are better at containing than at taking wickets.  Modern whiteball cricket - ODI or T20 - is about taking wickets - especially middle over wickets with spin - A Kuldeep or mishra type bowler will be missed by India I think.   Tahir balances the proteas team out nicely with this - making first among the 3 top favorites for the CT - all 3 have quality top order batting that can really smoke a team, but Saffers have the best balance on the bowling side.
