Yes it was.BCCI publically said they had asked CAC to sort out the issues between Kohli and Kumble.

And what about the other points were they were highly unprofessional?

Not disclosing business interests , asking BCCI to consider applicants who didn't qualify the criteria , l mediating duuring CT and finally being bullied by Shastri into giving him the job.

There is other way to look at conflict of interest. If you have a high profile player involved he would most likely be involved in many ventures and have vast personal relations. You can find anything to connect the dots. If we want to avoid this appoint low profile people connected to relevant. But then people would still cry about nobodies selecting coach or similar whining.

Frankly that's ridiculous. If you are seriously suggesting there arent 3 high profile people who are not monetarily benifitting from Shastri or Kumble to conduct the interview process .

And most importantly what you are basically suggesting is it's not a big deal if we appoint Indian coach based on how much they can benefit financially not because how good they are. That everyone is crooked.

No wonder Kohli was pissed of with Kumble selection from the off if that's the case.

There are basic rules .Why do you Laxman resigned in a hurry from Tenvic once his involvement became public?

They should have come clean about here partnerships before the interview process .

BCCI asked does not mean anything. They have no magic to solve issues. They tried but it didn't happen.

Yeah that one of the issues .Not the only one.

Not attending the interview, Not disclosing business interests , asking BCCI to consider applicants who didn't qualify the criteria , mediating duuring CT and finally being bullied by Shastri into giving him the job.

All of them are still more than just unprofessional

1) Kumble will apply was not known in advance.CAC was formed first.

2) Don't think there is monetary benefit involved. Can you explain on the part how they will benefit monetarily? At the most unethical selection which happens anyway.

3)Kohli may be pissed off because Ravi was not selected. Kumble's uncompromising ways pissed him more.

4)To avoid unnecessary controversy and aspersions.

5)Avoiding conflict of interest is more out of ignorance than intentional in this case. Not like they knew they would suddenly be part of a commitee which would select coach.

How would we know he didn't ?

Are we accessable to his financial transactions. No .He should have come clean about that before the start of interview process .But he didn't

And that's highly unprofessional.

Yet Laxman resigned from it the moment it became public.

I am not arguing whether he actually befinited monetarily or not.The issue is he way in a way to get benifited and hence it was unprofessional and conflict of interest .

CAC asked Kumble to apply actually. But that's besides the point.

Laxman resigned from Tenvic as soon as it became public .He should have done that the moment Kumble applied or stepped aside from the interview process. That is ethical and professional way.

Being in the selection panel and then convincing shastri to apply who himself had declared that he would apply only if the job is guaranteed. Pathetic from Sachin.

That's as unprofessional as it goes...

BCCI was indulging in drama anyway. But CAC itself indulged in drama... like telling to public if intention to talk to the captain and explain him about how coaches work etc. What's there to explain about how cheerleader work? Lol...

Vinod Rai had enough of this drama and told CAC to cut the crap... else the drama would've continued for few more weeks...

According to DNA , the delay was because Shastri insisted on Bharat Arun as bowling coach and Ganguly wanted Zaheer .Hence the delaying tactics by Ganguly.

Once COA asked them pull their socks up ,it seems Shastri and co finally agreed to Zak

Even cricinfo has bought into this..CAC was never to pick support staff, only to pick coach. CAC (Maninly Dada went around and picked Zaheer/Dravid), RJS is left with Man-Management , whatever that means. He'll cheer them when down, and take them to the pub for a hic!

There was a role of Psychological Consultant when Kirsten was the coach, Shastri is good enough only to do that role.

Kumble didn't work because he possibly behaved like a headmaster. Now, the CAC is doing the same thing, acting like a headmaster, and forcing Ravi to accept the other 2 coaches. It's unfair for Ravi and the players  and really completely unprofessional by CAC.

Lack of professionalism on part of BCCI is truly baffling.

BCCI choose to ask the ex-players to select coach instead of themselves. That's a good move. But these ex-players overstepped their role now and it's them who are unprofessional.

Paddy upton...lol the one behind Kallis and Sehwag's comebacks..dude that guy was gold. Let us see what Shastri uncle does, even if he gets Kohli's mojo in tests back he would have done this job.

lol unfair.. what a twist...uncle wanted bharat arun or made sure he had an argument with Ganguly on that publically, so just making sure he has a reason to dump zak after any debacle scapegoat ready. Uncle moves his chess pieces like Francis Underwood.
