Yeah I forgot about rahul and Dhawan.

So most likely

Dhawan

Rahul

Pujara

Kohli

Rahane

I would love to get Iyer in but it will probably be Sharma :wall:

bhuvi is a better  'test'(only) batsman than rohit ....i reckon by his overseas records

Dhawan and Mukund are both crap technique wise and wIll struggle in SA. I hope Vijay gets back to form rather than hoping anything from those two.

If Vijay does not hit form in Test-1 and Test-2 vs SL -

we need to try a (new?) backup in Test-3 ?

If Dhawan is the backup he may score in India against SL, but flop in SA

Shreyas Iyer 138 off 124 balls .... 9 sixes and 11 fours.     :nice:

run out

Bowlers  Ashwin, Vignesh, Shankar and Yo Mahesh .... not bad at all.

This guy can walk in into any team in the world.. Test or ODIs. Amazing thing is he hasn't even debuted for us.

Forget Iyer they wouldn't even select Sachin of 1989 then. Sachin may have debuted by 1995 at best.

I think he can be a perfect fit  for no.4 or no. 5 in 50 ODI , a position where  he supposed to face more spinners than pace  .

Has  demolished some of the best current spinners  - Lyon , Is Sodhi , Ash in this match

Murderer of spin bowling it seems . Hist lots of sixes .

He may be inconsistent due to nature of hios aggressive play , but  if you can thrash spinners in middle overs i think one can          win 80% of the matches  and  almost all teams now  bowl minimum 2 spinners .

Yes ..  nice feeling when you think of Iyer at 4 and hardik at 5 ..

many of the spinners will have thier Pants ghilla when they see these 2 together at crease !!   .

And add KL & R Pant as when they hit good form ..

Hope my wishes come true one day!

Nair might have hit the first century in FC cricket after the triple. :aha:

I think he did against NZ A or SA too, don't exactly remember.

Indian batsman Ajinkya Rahane has been included in Mumbai's squad for its upcoming fixture against Odisha .

Pacer Shardul Thakur will also return to strengthen the bowling attack

Nair scored a 90 against SA A in the 2nd " unofficial test "

Then scored a century in Duleep Trophy.

Now this century in Ranji.

Scoring regularly in A-team List A games too.

He is back in form.

Whats his technical issue- he is just a bit loose

I don't see Nair as a long term option for test, his game is loose n technique not so great, doesn't mean he cant overcome it like Amla did, but is not common.
