Does he have any strong cricketing connections?

Let alone India, i never thought he would play ranji's.

First time, i saw him in U19's, he was the worst of all indian bowlers...but he was preferred over others...I believe, he was in the same team a netravalkar and others...

and now, he is playing for India...can't believe it

He had picked 13 wickets for India A in England in one 4-day game 2010. Netravalkar and Sandeep Sharma were all very slow. he was the quickest in that U19 WC hitting 130s. Netravalkar was 115-120K. Sandeep 125K.

His performance in ipl was also very good . Only second to bk .....bk played more games or else unadkat would probably have got the purple cap.

What a change it has been from 2010

From the dibbly-dobbly guys to Saini, Siraj, Thampi etc. bowling for India A.

And Avesh, Nagarkoti , Mavi and Porel bowling for our U19 sides.

those three were playing in U19. now focus is on pace. Dravid has singled out few of the quickest domestic U19 pacers.

And a much higher number of pacy bowlers are available too

Many of the top Ranji sides have 2 to 4  fast or fast-medium pacers

Everyone I see wants to bowl quick, bowl with effort and hit the deck hard.

Big change from a high percentage of floaty medium-pacers even 7 years back

Fast bowling culture has finally come to our country for the last 3 or 4 years

If you lift weights you will realize that to lift the heaviest load you have to exhale to get the maximum effort. Dont know the scientific reason but that allows you to apply maximum power. Someone with knowledge of kineseology can help. Very common in weight lifting if you hit the gym.
