This is why the inclusion of so called all rounders is such a bad idea. Especially seam bowling all-rounders. And we have two bits and pieces players in Jadhav and Hardik. Why can't we play a proper batsman in the top 5 and a proper bowler at 7 instead. Genuine all-rounders are rare and it's clear we don't have any. At least if we play 5+1+5 it'll be more balanced than this .

You need players who can build innings. Yuvraj never played ridiculous shots like Pandya even early in his career. India has inept, weak, loose stroke players in the middle after Kohli. THen we have Dhoni who is past by sell date. He may make some runs using his experience. But he is not as reliable as he was 10 years ago. It is a big vacuum after Kohli. We just hope one of these bozos click in the back end.

Best option is to send Dhoni at 4, he won’t struggle or play a shot like Rahane which he did today. He can actually rotate well with Kohli.

 

At 5-6 we can try other players.

This is where guy like Butler makes so much difference, Dhoni is such a burden these days.Instead of taking pressure of the Kohli these guys are adding more pressure on him.
