Nadia is another lost case. The land of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is slowly becoming an Islamic hub thanks to unchecked illegal immigration from Bangladesh. Hostile takeover in progress, most Bengalis I know now even long for the Left Front days....TMC govt is that bad.

The whole Nadia region including Bangaon and Barasaat has been prone to illegal immigrants for quite a few decades. Unchecked immigration still continues to take place and the local authorities are well aware of it, which is quite sad. And it's probably true that land of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is slowly turning into an Islamic Hub, although things look a little brighter now. By the way, are you from Nadia?

No, I was born and brought up in WB, Burdwan to be precise. I am not Bengali but my father worked there his entire professional life.

While I agree with the idea of President’s Rule in WB, this is not the right time. The blatant disregard of Democracy in WB is not creating any ripples on NEWS. So any misadventure on the part of Central Govt will help Secular-Libral brigade to even go to UN against any action by Modi Govt.

 

If st all it’s required, Presidents Rule can be invoked before WB state elections.

 

Modi Govt should utilise the Sharada & Narada Scams to target Didi. But looks like BJP has compromised on that front.

Well they wanted an islamic country. What happened? Why are they migrating back to India now. This is ridiculous.

Unfortunately this is maybe the default state of WB. Mamata campaigned on "poriborton" over the communists and won a convincing enough victory the first time, after decades the communist rule was over. But communists won there for a reason, and theres no reason to think that the same campaign slogan can win again. She is probably better than them but why would you think she will give up the power methods that the communists used, when it worked for them over 3 decades!

More than them, blame traitors within India who are allowing the influx to happen. The other day India Today did an investigation about how easy it is to get voter ID/Aadhar/BPL card for illegal Bangladeshis.....for as little as Rs 500 you can crossover with all legal documents...huge nexus between politicians-religious leaders-police-BSF. In neighboring districts like Malda, Murshidabad, Dinajpur, Nadia there is an entire industry dedicated to smuggling, opium, fake currency and immigration.....has been like that for decades now. Demographics change in these areas is not solely because of difference in TFR. Scary part is Bangladeshis have started pushing towards Birbhum, Burdwan, Purullia, Bankura, Bihar, Jharkhand etc. This is the Dhubri model (Bangladeshi immigrants pop growth in excess of 250% per decade for 4 decades now....state average 20% per decade !!!!), Bengal awaits its own Badruddin Ajmal.

Nowadays president's rule can't be implemented unless there is evidence that an election can't be held without it, iirc. One can thank the Association of Pidis for that.These panchayat elections are irrelevant to most people so no one will use it to declare President's rule. If something like this occurs during a Lok Sabha or Vidhan Sabha elections, then one can hope for actions toward President's rule. 

 

Ultimately, in democracies, the leaders and their policies are the reflections of the people who vote for them and their desires. There is no reason to think that, even if Mamata was abducted by aliens and her organs harvested for baby alien breakfast burrito, that anything would change in West Bengal, even if another party came into power. If the same people vote and get their candidates to win the elections, the idiot sitting on the chair doesn't matter.

Bangladesh is getting better under Sheikh Hasina..at least there is a genuine attempt to course correct, insult to compare Bengal with her eastern sister. May be East Pakistan is a better term to describe our erstwhile great state.

We need far more than just president's rule. We need something like a landslide victory for a Bengali version of right wing hindu group for an election cycle or two that also hates the concept of Gorkhaland.

BJP/RSS types wont cut it - we are not the same hindustani types with 'patit-pavan-sita-ram' ideology. 

Their brand of right wing hinduism is not gonna inspire Bongs, nor will it do any good.


We need the Michael Madhusudhan Datt or Bankim Chandra type of right-wing-ism.

BJP and CPM candidates/supporters stabbed, acid thrown at them. Women raped by TMC goons in open view only for police to come and arrest the victims.....blood boils :angry:. Unprecedented scale of violence, time for Prez Rule. 

Bengal is a lost cause.

Still can't figure out what do Bengalis see in this woman.
She's an evil witch.


Bong here.
She pretends to be simple angel in white clothes who is targeted by all the evil forces in the world because she did good.
Also she doles freebies every now and then to keep the lower socio-economic group happy.
Things are changing though.
BJP is growing and soon will win the elections.

Centre just needs to make sure fair elections are conducted in a proper way.
Not the farcical circus that the Panchayat elections are right now.
