I still think skill is more important than stamina. An inform Rohit with ok stamina in odi is much better than supremly fit Raina/ thaliva.

nobody is denying the skill part but if keep persisting with that thought and keep giving  leverages we wont reach next level. One thing gr8 was bound to happen when kohli was made a captain that he will bring a more serious n approach towards fitness culture and now when is doing it he cnt bend the rules.

Yo-yo test is conducted in all world teams so their wud be a reason for and if all are doing what is our problem , we have the lowest benchmark also.

kohli cleared it after an injury

Dhoni is clearing it age of 37

raina worked hard n cleared it

So whats rohit sharma excuse.

If u give one player and excuse then dump the method , coz ur not setting xample. Fitness was one the biggest reasons why Aus n WI ruled for many yrs. Pak n Indian teams also had skill but never ruled like Aus n Wi did

Agree to most part regarding fitness but highlighted part is not that many would agree. Aus and wi ruled because they have several atg in their team. How many legendary player Ind or Pak have compare to wi and Australia. They were supremly skilled compare to their peers from other country.

Even India n pak team also had a lot of ATG

If u revisit fire in babylon , all of them mention how they took their game to next level when they hired a fitness trainer

Even the gr8 aussies had gr8 fitness level despite having a team with players over 30

That better fitness allows u to win those key moment at the end of the day when everyone is tiring, thats where aussies use to always get back into game even if they were struggling. We have a team full good player and gr8 fitness will only enhance our skill. Their is no better xample then virat kohli himself.

Can you do player comparison of great Aussies and great wi team compare to other team. No matter how much u force the fitness criteria it's harsh fact that they were some once in a life time great bunch of individuas in those teams who played together. During 90 who other than Sachin or to some extent azhar was the level of great Aussie team. Even if u go to 03 WC other than Sachin gangly and David all were new player and it's laughable to compare the bowlers in any generation compare to those great wi and Aussies. They might have won few matches beacuse of supreme fitness. But the way they crushed their opponents most of the times, proves the difference of level of skill they possessed compare to other teams.

yes that few matches or few moments becoz of fitness is what makes them win almost every game , at the end cricket is game based on skill but fitness will add to it

If u have 7 point and u can add 3 by fitness ...why not , why settle for 7 only

virat kohli like rohit sharma cud have choosen to be lazy but its his desire to achieve more thats already making him stand among ATG. At the end it comes down to being happy in whatever u have or desire to achieve more. We wanna see this team rising to new levels. U knw why our bowlers break down less as compare to few yrs ago , its coz of the increase in level of fitness

Anyone who thinks Rohit will fail the yo yo test tomorrow is living in pure fantasy. BCCI will make sure he is part of the squad.

These players can potentially make more money during six weeks of IPL than what someone like me would make by slaving away 9 to 6 for 30 years. Additionally, they have access to personal trainers, chefs, and world class training facilities and gyms and yet they are struggling with beer bellies, double chins, and general lethargy. It's a damn shame in this era of professional sports.

Skills shouldn't be used to justify sloppy health and poor fitness. Skills and fitness directly compliment each other.

If Rohit don't make it (which will be a shame), I want Prithvi Shaw to replace him as an opener. Its criminal to keep the next Sachin away from the team any longer.

sachin was once in a generation cricketer, u dnt find players like that every

N seeing his poor technique to a young tendulkar who had a good one ....comparisons shud be kept far away
