this is reminding me off pakistan during Misbah days.....Misbah stays and instructs other batsmen to hit out while he defends so that wickets don't fall...other batsmen get out...misbah starts hitting when tailenders come in...total team score 220 odd runs lol

Misbah was no great ODI bat but I feel people compare him to current Dhoni without taking context into the equation.

Whenever Misbah used to come to the crease, the scorecard would be 20-3 or 30-3 with brainless middle order batsmen like Akmal, Maqsood, etc.

Moreover, in Misbah's period, pitches wasn't this bad (post 2015 WC, pitches world over have become even worse). Plus Pakistan could defend 250 score because they had 3 spinners (Ajmal, Hafeez, Afridi - albeit 2 of them chuckers) and a couple of pacers doing well. So Misbah's slow approach wasn't as hopeless as Dhoni's approach.

This isn't to say Misbah would have scored at 90 SR had Pakistan had better batters but atleast for his time, his approach wasn't as hopelessly bad as Dhoni's is for India in recent times.
