Australia needs 4 Pacers and one spinner.i would treat ashwin or jadeja as ar

Ashwin, Jadeja, and Bhuvi are not ARs who can occupy 6 or 7 batting position in most conditions and be consistent enough. They are more like Kumble, Srinath, Warne, etc., i.e. bowlers who can bat too. Their utility is in relatively strengthening our batting by doing well in 8-11 positions, while they contribute primarily with the ball.

Playing them in higher position by labeling them as ARs may only add pressure on them, which could impact their primary role as bowlers. You know how Ashwin turned in to an enemy after that lack lustre bowling spell in the last game. Their primary role is well defined and have to deliver in that first and foremost.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA .... I stopped watching and just checked the score now. What a bunch of losers! I hope India lose and lose BIG! That is the only way there is any hope for changes, although I am not optimistic.

I am rooting for a colossal embarrassment!

To pre-empt this, bevda and Kohli have been spouting bs about how hard they competed, how hurt they are etc. Both should resign after this match to kick off real change.

When many were declaiming Pant as the second coming of Gilchrist, I'd refused to believe the hype.  But now that he's being termed a hack, I'll say give him at least a series more.  Let him have  5-10 Tests in a row to make his case.  Saha was my first choice, but with his injury, well...

Pant's neither the Next Best Thing (ever), nor is he a hack (for now). Just a possible talent who could do reasonably well (and 'reasonably well' is the standard we can expect at best given the wk field of talent right now) if given opportunities, so IMO he should be given them to make his case convincingly- one way or another.

Right now we're all seeing him get dissected on the big stage.  We need to see how he recovers.

Its very hard for a debutant to make a mark in England, this should be taken into consideration where all the so called batting stalwarts have failed ,they have meekly surrendered, yes Pant should have done a little better but the benefit of doubt should be with him in England,he should be picked in the home series against Windies
