Not just by run scored but by intent...you were talking abt rahane 50....as soon as kohli got out in 4th test everyone and even rahane knew he can't do shits . Even English were overly joyed as they knew match was done there. And yes Pandya was MVP on that match which we won, guy took 5 wkt in the span on 30-35 balls and won the match was definitely an MVP.

Sure, but Kohli-Rahane is the last recognized batting pair and none of them scored runs this series except Pandya in the 3rd test. Everyone after 5 is an allrounder for us. Only this match we played a 6th batsmen.

If only results matter for wickets/runs to matter, then Rahane scored his 81 in the 3rd Test which we won...

Anyway, nice chat, I am logging off for now. :thumb:

The English commentators know the conditions at their home better than Indian fans(including myself) who watch their matches once every 2-3 years. None of them criticized the conditions we played in except during the 2nd test when Botham and Nasser said we were unlucky to lose the toss and that the English got the better of the conditions.

Otherwise the conditions were the same for both teams and none of the pitches were unplayable.

That's everyone who scored over 200, Rahul will probably score over 300, but again Cook, Root, and Rahul all got their top scores in this 5th match. You are free to value it however you like. I don't view it as great innings by any of the 3 as I don't value runs in dead rubbers.

* cook and root averaged 24 and 25 and they got their average to mid thirties thanks to this thakela pitch and our thakela bowlers .Even Raul boomed his average in the thirties from 16 lol

The conditions were the same for both teams but I think it's something to do with these dark dukes balls that have been doing a lot and the pitches have offered seam movement or some assistance throughout. Overall quite bowler friendly conditions even by English standards.

if we lose now, i would blame Kohli for it! i know he is the best bat in the team, but the shot on his first ball in 2nd inning was too casual.. had he stayed, we would be favorites at this time!

Though he must be cursing himself for missing this opportunity..
