Well in theory yes. But its other way around , do you think if kohli wanted someone else he wouldn't have got it. History suggest captain is the main man had it not been so,Mohinder Amarnath and his selection committee would have fired Dhoni as a captain long back but we all know what happened then.

You miss the point. Never question god. When he says to give more matches to Dhoni, He is just trying to expose Dhoni every game so that Dhoni doesnt play WC-23

Dhoni has the worst record among in ICC tournaments, both in terms of batting average and strike rate - 36 matches, 690 runs@34, SR of 85 (he gets saved by the 2011 world cup final knocks else it's a pathetic record for someone called an ODI ATG)
