Indian cricket is a biased culture and don't made bowlers captain unless they run out of alternatives. Then there's the question of Ashwin and his ego.  

 

But I really think he's got what it takes.

Was Kapil the last fast bowling captain we had ? Been a while I guess, unless we want to include Kumble in the category as well. Between Prasad, Kuruvilla, Dodda & Kumble, only the latter bowled yorkers while the remaining three loved slower balls.

Bumrah captain in 2-3 years with Pant / Prithvi / Gill as vice captain.

Bumrah being a fast bowler will not be able to play all tests without breaking down...so a reliable vice captain will be required.

I like bowlers as captain. I liked how Walsh could control the game as captain even though Windies did not have much success and were on a decline during that time.

Bowler captain tend to have better knowledge of the game situation,there is a high chance of them making correct calls in crunch situations than a batsman captain

bowler captains being bowlers have also that bowler psyche and are the best person to deal with other bowlers in the team

I don't mind this but injuries is the major reason why fast bowlers shouldn't be the captain especially one with injury history

Not a good idea to have bowler captains. They are rested in some series, during injuries they are away for rest for months, at times they can miss whole session. Then the VC takes over frequently. Would prefer a batsman captain.
