Trichromatic Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 Umesh Yadav - 31 years 59 days Ishant Sharma - 30 years 112 days Md Shami - 28 years 111 days Bhuvneswar Kumar - 28 years 321 days Jasprit Bumrah - 25 years 17 days 32-33 years is the time when pacers start struggling with injuries loss of pace and other issues. This line has been doing well for last 3 years and addition of Bumrah has added new life to it. Bumrah will be at peak by test championship final (27.5 years), Bhuvi will be 31+, Ishant close to 33, Yadav 33.5+, Shami probably 34 in real age. It means we will need a new batch of pacers after world test championship (June 2021). Luckily we will have 2 experienced pacers to lead the attack. Will we see sudden absence of current pacers (retirement or injuries) and new pacers directly thrown in difficult situations or we will witness smooth transition in next 2 years? Nikola Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 Why just pacers? Even ashwin is 32 and looking at his fitness i guess he won't last more than 2 years. He looks past his peak too. Jadeja might have few years left for indian pitches though. UrmiSinhaRay, BrantFUGH, Sgattick10 and 1 other 1 1 1 1

Spin transition has been smooth so far. Ashwin has 4 years in him. Jadeja 5-6 years. Kuldeep has cemented his place in ODIs and getting chances in tests. He is just 24. Chahal is complementing Kuldeep in ODIs. Real McCoy, BrantFUGH, Ridgepi and 1 other 2 2

express bowling Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 (edited) Young Indian pacers ( 26 or less ) waiting in the wings and ready or almost ready for test matches. Siraj 24 ...great A-team performances Rajpoot 25 ...great FC season/ played India A. Saini 26 ... regular in India-A. Avesh 22 ...wonderful FC season this time Mavi 20 ...great start to FC career Transition should be smooth if proper planning is there. Avesh and Mavi look like very exciting long term prospects ... as they combine wicket taking ability with genuine pace and bounce. Nagarkoti 18 and Nathu 23 are two other good long term prospects. Ankit_sharma03 Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 We shudnt be worrying about our fast bowling resources, i just worry about if right selectors wud be picked who will pick the right players. Every time I have seen him bowl in this period, he has looked more wayward than even Umesh Yadav. He deserves his chances due to his superlative performances for India-A ... but I am not that interested in his bowling till he improves. UrmiSinhaRay 1
King Tendulkar Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 Er ...lets worry aboput now. Big oz tour and wc. After that some home series can play some new pacers and develop But right now no time to worry about 2 years ahead. Particularly with mob of ICF wanting Kohlis blood and praying and hoping for India losses. Kohli needs win now to keep mob at bay lol Ridgepi 1

You can't say with surity that you can go all the way to cup with such a lopsided combnation. Opposition teams will make strategies to see atleast 2 of that core of 4-5 are nullified in crunch matches . I suspect at present form , BK may get a hiding in WC in death overs and we have no readymade back ups. BrantFUGH 1
