Even when kohli was kohli in a world tournament like t20 2014, 2016...we still did not win. No one player can win u...its always team effort

Chunk of the blame goes to himself. He made the team over-dependent on himself with ridiculous revolving door policy. Hackudu should have never been in the picture

But one player can carry to semis and finals. If Kohli is not Kohli, India will not get out of group stages.

Who is the alternative to Rayudu. People keep taking as if Kohli is responsible for creating players. They have given chances to everyone. There is noone that good in the system. It is not like they have ignored guys like Butler, Morgan. They have tried everyone.

Shankar has emerged late and they have dropped Rayudu and given him chances too.

that also wont happen every time, remeber it didnt happen in 2014. Dependency on one player is the worst thing.

But its a myth with indian team we have - kohli, kuldeep, bumrah , shami who all are gr8 n consistent.

Dhawan becomes everyone baap in World tournaments

Pandya , dhoni n jadhav have their utility

Chahal n rohit will have their days

having said that i knw we wont win the Wc for sure

Problem is not that we won't win WC - never a cakewalk to win big tournaments.  Problem is the utter lack of planning in team-building, and batting tactics.  Given the wealth of resources available, this is very obviously not the best team and gameplan that India could have put up for the WC.  That's what's so disappointing.

shaw himself hasnt done anything much till now

yes, but Shaw is a more young player, so if he figures it out during the IPL, there will be optimism for him to further improve.

Rahul looks as inconsistent as ever. I expected him to come out all guns blazing this  IPL. Lets see how he does today

Big tournaments need experience. Shaw is a future prospect, not yet there.

that's fair, but form is also important. If Gabbar or Hitman get injured, we don't want a Rahul with a string of low scores to replace them.

At this rate Rahane will be backup opener, experience and recent form :nervous:

Dependency one player is worst everyone knows it but what are the options available. Other than top three there is no batting in this team.It has been like this from 2013.Dhoni atleast was good till 2015 but he is also useless now.

Pandya and Jadhav will never be consistent match winners, they are needed for this team. People have unreasonable expectations.

In this team bowlers cannot bat , batsmen cannot bowl so it will be a very one dimesional team. You just hope bowlers keep the targets down. But like in 2015 semis and CT finals if bowlers have bad days, this batting is not good enough to overcome it.

Pandya or Jadhav are not that great to begin with, they are needed for this team as it does not have any other players.Pandya especially will be always hit and miss.

anyone at 7 will be a hit n miss, make kohli bat at 7 he ll be useless

When u have to strike from ball 1...u cant be consistent

Shaw is ready. Just a few days back you were calling 20-30 runs batsman. In your face he scored 99 in a t20 game. :laugh1:

Just like you always undermine Kuldeep over chahal, I see a pattern you undermining Shaw over maybe Gill?

Shaw is ready because he doesn't need to be ready. Shaw is a rare species. :phehe: GOn the other hand, Gill needs to play more to know if he is ready.  Obviously Gill looks to have better technique though. But then people said Rohit had good technique before he exposed himself at internationals. Often elegance and technique are confused even by so called experts.
