Also if they have KL Rahul in the squad what was the need for Karthik as a WK? 

You could have had Rahul as the makeshift WK if Dhoni gets injured and include Pant as a batsman 

 

Vijay Shankar is a bits and pieces player and may be counterproductive in a close encounter 

I feel we have a squad good enough to be a mid table team.. But not sure if they are good enough to win the finals

It doesn't matter what is Rahul's credential, we need a better middle order which Virat @4 can bring. Secondly with such a top heavy batting, we lose 2 & it's game over for us. Happened in CT final, once in Aus & many times in the past. Virat at 2 down is just as good, if you look at his record however we do not have a reliable middle order & you can't fix that without VK.

You can't understand  our openers  are fu$$ selfish ,either they get out within 5 overs or consume too  much delivery. ' klrahul don't have better  strike rotation skill.he is suitable for opening or lower down sloging(assuming his t20 exploitation)virat can control game better at number 3 rather  than 4.he lacks power game,his game depends on single and doubles ,he can't slog on first ball which Rahul does.
