bowl_out Posted April 19, 2019 Posted April 19, 2019 The thread is to monitor IPL performance of Indian players selected for the WC Most players in the WC 15 have had a surprisingly patchy IPL so far. Will keep this thread updated with player performances with the rest of the IPL. Rohit - Slow starts in most games. No stand out performance Dhawan - Had a poor start to the IPL. One score of 97*, below average IPL other than that Kohli - patchy starts in most games. looks good today vs KKR Vijay Shankar - poor IPL so far. threw away some opportunities Dhoni - couple of 50+ scores vs Rajasthan trundlers Jadhav - nothing noteworthy Pandya - brilliant match winning cameos on 3-4 occasions. decent with the ball Jadeja - couple of decent performance each with bat and ball.. exceptional fielding as always Kuldeep - below average IPL.. been expensive and not among wickets Shami - excellent IPL. been very good at death overs Bumrah - excellent IPL. getting better with every game Chahal - decent IPL.. been among wickets. gets expensive at times Bhuvi - average IPL. been economical opening the bowling. not been able to get as many wickets as he did in the past DK - below average IPL. no stand out performances.. KKR has depended more in Russell to finish games than DK Rahul - good IPL.. seems to have matured as a batsman.. many 50+scores, some match winning too.

Batting is poor with Rohit, Dhoni, etc., along with players who implode under pressure like Shankar .... Some of these guys will have to play their best cricket for Ind to even qualify for SF WC2011INDIA 1

He had one good performance each in the recent two Aus ODI series and one of them was on a patta in a losing cause. zen 1

Rohit does well in bilaterals where you play the same team over a bunch of games and where eventually you come across flat tracks. So him not doing well recently in bilaterals, his strength, is definitely a concern

But having runs behind you with good performances is just that additional confidence booster you need before getting into the WC. You'd want Kohli to get into the WC after scores like yday than to get in after a string of single digits scores express bowling 1
