Trichromatic
Arch-rivals, Asian giants, one side leads overall count in ODIs, while other side clean swept all WC encounters, flavor of India-Pakistan encounters is not limited just to cricket, but has captured political, social fervour of masses. Wait for cricketing encounters between two countries has annuated by lack of bilateral matches and strong desire by fans to see their teams either maintain long standing streak or break the losing streak. Moreover, recent political environment and uncertainity over possibility of the match due to non-cricketing reasons had evoked mixed emotions among fans. Pakistan dominated Indian team in ODIs in 90s while 2000s saw close matches, yet Indian team enjoys 6-0 record in biggest tournament in World Cup. 2019 ICC cricket world cup will bring them together (and against each other for 100 overs) at Old Trafford Manchester, England and it promises to offer yet another riveting contest if weather stays favorable. This world cup has been marred by washouts and forecast doesn't look good for Sunday either, but we can still hope for at least a curtailed match. England offers unique experience when it comes to India - Pakistan matches. I had an opportunity to watch their World T20 clash at Eden Gardens in 2016. While atmosphere is always amazing at Eden with 60k+ crowd, it was expectedly dominated by Indian fans with small pockets of Pakistani fans in the stadium. It's not difficult to guess that situation would be similar for Pakistani side when Indian team visited Pakistan in 2000s. However, England gets sizeable crowd from both countries and this is where it is able to offer a unique experience. Fans from both countries turn up in huge numbers and the overall environment becomes festive. India has started late and well in this WC winning first two matches with South Africa and England, while their encountered with NZ was a washout. Pakistan lost to WI and Australia, but their win against England was great for both team and fans. When both teams met last time in ICC tournament, Pakistan came home with big win in the final of CT 17 against all odds. India defeated Pakistan comprehensively in Asia cup even in absence of captain Kohli in their last ODI clash. This Pakistani team offers a stronger batting line up unlike bowling which has been their stronger suite traditionally. Indian team is well balanced with top 3 batsmen and strong bowling line up which offers a lot of variety. Middle order will be worry for Indian team and Pakistan would be banking on Md Amir to exploit this weakness and repeat his CT 17 heroics. If matches so far give right indications, then India would be in good position by fielding Md Shami instead of a spinner, most likely Kuldeep Yadav who hasn't been high on confidence recently. Injury to Shikhar Dhawan was a big blow, but it will probably offer KL Rahul an opportunity to showcase his talent at biggest stage. So, fasten your seatbelts, join us in live match discussion on indiancricketfans.com and share your experiences if you're at the stadium. Support your team, enjoy the game and time here. We will organize a post match discussion on Mumble where members can have audio discussion about the match. Stay tuned. Pak batting first, scoring 350 like they did with eng or 300+ in ct, will be troublesome for us. AK007 1 Link to comment

randomGuy
Enable umpires/administrators to shorten at game at the start itself if there's chance of rain inbetween... Everyone would take 30 overs a side match for ex. if there are chances of rain later on. AuxiliA and YCCC 2 Link to comment

If the conditions stay like this until toss, there's no reason to bowl first. Bat first, get a total and wait for poyz to crumble. But if it's cloudy and overcast, we should definitely bowl first. WeStMiDz
Think it will be a delayed start, there are some showers moving towards Manchester to hit in a couple of hours. After that there is a clear period until mid afternoon. In fact I think this game will be won on the second innings 20 over DLS position. Edited June 16, 2019 by WeStMiDz Link to comment

As we approach towards the start of the match, the probability of a washout is decreasing means the match is likely to start on time. 80% chance of no washout. sergio04 and WeStMiDz 2 Link to comment
