Reports of grouping led my Malik against Sarfaraz.

Sarfaraz has let Malik & co know if he goes down then so will they.

Public witnessing them out on Saturday night at a sheesha lounge until early hours of Sunday (2am) causing mass media speculation & hysteria.

Team seen at a burger joint..including bowling coach Azhar Mahmood.

Inzi meddling with team selection.

Sarfaraz not given the team he wanted (wanted to drop Malik & Imad) but Inzi & Mickey apparently refused.

Etc etc etc

malik has always been accused of groupism and being selfish

Data Analytics is overrated. The WI side 30 years were the best side and they relied on no technology for anything, just raw enthusiasm for playing, whereas England big on data analytics got kicked out of WC due to a fiery spell from Rubel Hossain.

.. and you my friend are fit to coach pakistan :--D

i also wrote you need skills to implement a plan

they are like Nationalism and Passion chahiiye to win matches . I saw their TV interview  from old players . Nationalism only hype up matches, but once things settles down skills come into place and they are clueless.

I also saw quite a few of them thanks to that shoiab rant link in the other thread. It was strange the kind of suggestion most were giving. Bring pakistani coach because our boys don't understand english or doesn't understand our culture. My fav was one guy suggesting need to investigate who decided win toss bowl first. Only Akram sounded sensible when he asked name the bradmans who are sitting in pakistan, he spoke about systemic changes to identify talent and then work on skills.

But a hack who isn't performing on a regular basis is worst than a guy not playing modern cricket but atleast scoring runs. When your leader fails on a regular basis, others around him will point to him when they fail. Pak will be in all sort of trouble after this WC ends. They might be better off in 2023 WC by rebuilding from scratch.

When their prime minister couldn't able to win against India who the hell are these lallu panju.

Rebuilding needs talent, I don't see any talent emerging anytime soon from Pakistan. When whole nation is like war zone , it is hard to create any atompshere for sports.Hockey is gone now cricket will go.

Hockey lost popularity because they are not good enough when competing against the likes of Germany, Australia, Netherlands, Spain etc. When it comes to cricket, barring 4 or 5 most of the teams are minnow level. They will always manage to win some games to keep their fans entertained who dont have better options in sport. :winky:

All cricket cultures are unique, Pak cricket is known for it's chaotic brilliance like Argentina football but again that was 1990s Pak team, this team is apathetic. Apathy is what needs to be cured.

30 years before uber was not there and people reached places late. What worked then won't work now.

Indian and Pakistan hockey have failed to adapt to changing times. Corruption is biggest bane for Hockey in both countries.Pakistan cricket will die slow death if they continue to play away from home.

BCCI with all its evils have invested a lot back into the game.

You believe Clive Lloyd's side would get whopped down by an average international side like New Zealand? Provided that WI sticks to no technology traditional methods and NZ uses analytics to study WI players.

And yet a week or two ago, they handily beat the the CWC2019 favorites.  How come none of this concerns were apparent then?

"chaotic brilliance" works in non-professional sports - ones that don't have too much competition and competence.  Like cricket in the 1980s.  Pakistan's good performances in 80s and 90s were built on the back of talent that was polished in the finishing school of county cricket.  Plus they had the first-mover early adopter advantage with reverse swing - this carried them through the 90s.  Now that advantage is equalized since almost all teams know how to use it, counter it etc, they have to keep up with the level of professionalism in the sport.  Can't rely on "chaotic brilliance" - that basically means try and do your amateur best, and hope that the professional opponents have a bad day.  Pat your own back on the odd day that it happens by re-inforcing myths of "mercurial brilliance".  Rinse repeat.

You're right but I still believe that all cricket teams have different styles/approach to the game, no team plays exactly the same way. If all teams become ultra professional and clinical in their approach then that kind of neutralizes the diversity of playing styles, it becomes boring.
