This is one of the lesser dumb decision taken by him.

 

This guy has dropped Pujara for playing slow in 2016 WI tour, Dropped Vijay and Pujara for Dhawan and Rohit in same tour, Promoted himself at 3 to protect previous jewel Rohit Sharma.His treatment towards Kuldeep is well known.Brought back Harbhajan in test as soon as he become full time test captain  

Atleast Saha is better keeper and likable player who missed out due to an injury.

No one has blamed shah ...but the way pant has dropped from his strongest format everyone's calling out. The way entire fiasco happened first criticizing him publicaly and than chopping. One way good for Pant as someone said before ,would be good to have a fresh start and we never know when  captain moron in charge he might drop poor Saha and bring back  Pant in very next match.

Exactly... I feel bad for Pant, he has done well in Tests.. but Saha over Pant isn't even remotely close to other dumb decisions Kohli has made..

Why drop from tests for failing in short formats? also if you want attacking cricketer in short formats then players will play attacking shots and have chance of getting out early as well. If you take first 10 matches then pant surely will be #1 in our wicket keeper's history idk what more he has to do to survive in test cricket. Avg 60 - 70 maybe cause at 45 you get dropped.

For all those who are overreacting, Saha has been one of the best keepers in tests especially against spinners and he is even better than Dhoni. Missing a stumping or catch in tests can be crucial and there has already been pressure on Pant. Pant hasnt set the stage on fire with his batting like most people expected and he needs some time to work on his temperament, shot selection, technique. Hopefully, he will use this break to work on his flaws and get better. He has time on his hands. The worst thing would be to push a raw talent into the midst of international cricket and having him fail and lose his confidence completely.

His test-record says otherwise.  He has played under pressure, scored big and played an important hand in victories abroad (Adelaide,11 dismissals)

 

Maybe his keeping to spinners like Ravariation Ashwin may be suspect due to inexperience, but at least find a place for him as a test batsman.  He has earned it.

We should all stop over-reacting..

 

This looks to be more a Saha selection than a Pant rejection.. playing at home with 6 batsman + 2 spinners who are more than handy with the bat, you don't necessarily need a wicketkeeper's contribution with the bat as well... Kohli probably just went with the best keeper, given that batting is covered..

 

It sucks that Pant has to sit out, but if the rationale was the above, I don't see much wrong with it.. I only hope that the management has spoken to Pant, set expectations with him and laid out a roadmap for his future..

How on earth is a youngster scoring 100s in Austrlia and England in first tour tests not setting the world on fire?

 

Laxman has 0 100 in england, Dravid, Sehwag have 1 100 in Australia in their entire career. Pant already achieved this in his first tour

I m an immigrant and I serve this country and don’t want it to turn into a socialist mess .

 

no 1- he targets illegal immigrants . For u maybe not a problem but here in northwest usa border town hospitals have shut down as they have gone bankrupt from illegal care . Many places u can’t get into er for 8 -10 hrs as healthcare is overwhelmed . I am in healthcare and military both - see things which very high iq people don’t see or hear everyday . 

 

No 2- he has cut off nonsensical environmental regulations, is trying to make healthcare competitive . I can’t open a hospital without a signature of 100 doctors ! How inhibitive is it. He is trying to put price restrictions on drugs . Don’t listen to cnn buddy . Read the policies .
