express bowling Posted October 19, 2019 Posted October 19, 2019 (edited) Vihari should have played on this pitch as Kuldeep is injured. 3 pacers make sense but 3 spinners don't unless the 3rd one is a wrist spinner like Kuldeep. That's why you don't need 3 spinners. 5 bowlers are needed only if pitch is flat. On bowling pitch, you need to strengthen your batting.

Norman Posted October 19, 2019 Posted October 19, 2019 Jadeja hasn't looked at his best in this series with the ball. So, we needed an extra spinner. Kuldeep is injured. Nothing wrong in giving Nadeem a chance that too on his home ground. We shouldn't really worry about our batting depth at home as Jadeja and Ashwin are as good as specialists here.

If he is only going to play overseas his number will suffer Nadeem is 4th in pecking order of spinner once in bluemoon only he ll get a chance....he is already 30 .

maniac Posted October 19, 2019 Posted October 19, 2019 (edited) Gotta feel for Vihari though, he gets his debut on a seaming track in England and then pushed to open in Aus. Then became a reserve against WI and Afghan at home. Got a chance against WI on the away tour and luckily for him he performed and then again at home he is back in the reserves. Now he will play against Nzl in nzl and if he fails, will be replaced by a returning Suresh Raina or DK or anyone over 30 years of age. Edited October 19, 2019 by maniac
