@speedheat is from Goa, he is an Odia settled there?

Both @tweaker and I are from North Goa.

I don't have any ties to Orissa.

Shunya is Gujarati, and I've heard him speaking loudly in Gujarati with Laloo about a Dhoni issue.

However, there isn't much of a difference.

The north Goans are more interested in cricket, while the south Goans are more interested in football.

North Goans support the BJP and despise the Congress.

South Goans support the Congress Party and despise the BJP.

The accent and language are also a little different.

Man when VK became captain, I thought he'd finally make the years overdue adjustment to Indian batting strategy in ODIs.  But I realized that it wasn't Dhoni that was making the top order bat selfishly.  Virat, just like Ganguly, loves his stats and his cumulative landmarks.  He isn't going to bat with 25% more risk if that means 10 fewer ODI hundreds for him - and he's not going to ask Rohit to do that either.  All the pressure and responsibility of dragging the team score from 300 or so, to 350+ is all up to lower order.  After all, top order made sure that the team got a "good start".   We just have "poor finishers".
