With all his recent success, he should have been playing ahead of one of the three guys who were picked. Pretty brain dead selection there from Misbah and Azhar Ali. Abbas probably wasn't fit. He didn't even play warmups. Link to comment

They have been going on the bandwagon and wanting to play a young attack, reminiscent of them creating the AAG attack which they once used to gloat about even though it never happened. Hence since on the tour, they have been keeping Abbas away for these guys, even though one so called young is 32 year old Imran, who is not much younger to Abbas :). Meanwhile Nottinghamshire is looking to sign Abbas. express bowling 1 Link to comment
speedheat
He looks genuinely fast, saw one ball at 147kph in highlights. I guess he touched 150. Looks 26 than 16 honestly. Link to comment

Amazingly bad decision to bench him for a guy that has not featured for 3yrs in thr national side. Thickos. Abbas avg’s 18 with the ball. Cricketics 1 Link to comment

putrevus
He is not Brett Lee fast, he is just 140 plus guy.Unless he has any weapons to get batsmen out, he will struggle. He needs to to play more FC. Link to comment

So batsmen were not used to. Link to comment

In 2000s itself 120 kph was common speed in international cricket, anyone who bowled 140+ got lots of attention because it was so rare. Aaj kal har koi 140 daal raha hai due to structured diet and fitness. Link to comment

When you cannot bowl more than 4 overs in second day, you are worthless to the team. Yes Brett Lee might not have more pace than this guy but he sure did not limp out after 4 overs on day2 if he was not injured.I said Brett lee speed because this kid was being hyped as super fast. All WI bowlers in 1980s till mid 90s when they were in their pomp bowled fast. This guy is unfit to play test cricket if he cannot bowl on consecutive days. singhprakash72
I think Pakistan missed a trick by not having Mohammed Abbas ....Naseem bowled quite well but without luck. He is definitely a find but none of the bowlers could control runs and the field placement was very defensive. Easy runs on both side of the wickets after first 10 overs no catching positions for Yasir ....they made it too easy for midget and rest of the Aussies. Link to comment

Zak bowling 135 got injured on first day first session of the game doesn't mean he was useless. A 20 year quick getting injured is nothing and not happened for the first time. Cummins stayed out of the game for 7 years due to injury. Genuine quick bowling is toughest thing in cricket. Will never some genuine fast bowlers injury. Link to comment
